Additional Comments |
Dr. Kiasatpour is a very intellegent man, and expects his students to do a lot of work. Even though he is very bright his classes are very unorganized and students in my class often found it hard to follow from class to class. Often times his lectures would not connect from class to class. For example: one day his lecture was about the involvement of the British in WW1 and then the next class he would lecture on the Gulf War, never brining anything together. He expects his students to have A LOT of background knowledge on the Middle East (most normal students dont), and expects students to perform EXTENSIVE research, read 3-4 required books (many of which are impossible to finish), then write very long term papers. I would not reccomment this class unless you want this to be your main focus for the semester you take it.
He is also very arragant, very liberal, and not very informed on America. If this guy would have been around during the cold war he would have been dealt with.
