This class was so easy. She is funny and makes this night class go by pretty quickly. I liked her a lot and the tests are online and you can come and go as you please. The book is necessary just to look up the answers for the test.

She is a unique lady... and is always telling funny stories about how her husband and her get hurt and need first aid all the time. I was laughing nonstop at her ridiculous ways of life, haha..but she is fun and sweet.. The main part of thet course is the skills evaluation test , where you learn CPR and have to do a situation. I did a child who stopped breathing.. and I had to perform CPR on a mannequin and do everything perfectly. It's easy to make a good grade. Tests are online, but attendance is mandatory.. IT's a biterm once a week night class. Have fun;)

This class was so easy. The tests were on blackboard, and they were straight from the book. If she didn't take attendance, going to class would be pointless. She does lecture a little bit each time, but you don't have to write it down because she is getting it straight from the book. You get to leave class early and when you do CPR check-offs, she guides you through it. DEFINITELY recommended.

This class is bi-term so it went by very quickly! At first, Ms. Grimes seemed mean but she was actually really nice and willing to help anyone who needed extra time learning the skills. Furthermore, she is funny and outgoing and makes jokes out of the videos she makes you watch.
There are 2 tests that are multiple choice and you get to take them at home on blackboard. Therefore, you get to use your book and most of the questions are word for word in the book--so get the book!
The final test was a skill exam that you take in class--you pick a number 1-6 and will have to do either rescue breathing or CPR for an adult, child, or infant. She gives you a check sheet so you'll know exactly what she is grading and she even graded it really easy!

Mrs. Grimes is a teacher at another school, but comes to Western to teach as well. She is a really understanding teacher who knows that books are not always practical. Her tests are done online, so you can use your book for help. The only in-class assignments are the Skills Assessments. She always offers to stay with students after class if they want to practice their skills or if they have any other questions. I'm pretty sure she's the only one who teaches this class, but just know, it won't be bad!

Alisa Grimes is probably the worst teacher that I have ever had at Western. She comes to class about 5 minutes late each time and is always in a bad mood from teaching her high school classes all day. Sometimes she takes her anger out on the class. She is basically not a good teacher; you must teach yourself in this class. When you go to the labs to do CPR/First Aid practice, Mrs. Grimes always wants to hurry and rush out. I just do not feel that the class was worth my money. I have been certified in CPR/First Aid before, and I have never been so confused with someone's teaching style on such an important topic. If you like to get out of class early everyday, then this is the class for you.

Ms. Grimes can be kind of annoying because she talks about stupid stuff sometimes, but she's nice and the class is really really easy. The final is a skills exam, which isn't hard, and the other exams are done on blackboard. An easy A class.

She is kinda a smart ass who i would say doesn't care about her job. However the class is easy and you really don't need to take any notes. The tests are given to you and you take them home use your book and answer the questions. It is easy. If you get lower than an A it is your fault for not being able to look the answers up. There is also a skill part of the test and for us she missed so many days that all we had to do was CPR or Rescue breathing. Simple heh.

If you study a little bit, you'll get an A as well as certification in CPR and First Aid. Great night class.
