Haddix is ok...but I wouldn't recommend his class. I didn't care too much for it. If it wasn't for the fact that I have somewhat of a musical background then I don't know how I would have passed in this class. You have to be able to tell what instruments are being played on the first exam. They get harder from there. I wouldn't recommend this class period!

This is an intro course right?
WRONG. If you don't have any previous knowledge of this subject then just forget it. The second day he had us picking out different sympohny instruments from a piece of music, counting rythm & meter, & describing harmony & tone color--without even explaining it! I think everyone in that class was an ex band member, so they already knew this stuff, but what about the rest of us? I hated it. I studied forever & made a 54 on the 1st test because I couldn't hear all of this stuff in the music that takes years to accustom yourself with. AAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
Needless to say, I do NOT recommend him.

All he does is read directly from the book and pretends like we can't figure that out. Easy for those with previous knowledge. A lot of memorization. BORING
