First off, believe me, this PH 100 class is HARD. No joke. Don't think that this is PH from high-school, this class not only requires VERY GOOD study habits, but also requires alot of unique skills to get an A. This class not only is Hard for everyone who took it, it really ate some Deans-list students alive, with every class meeting in the 2nd half of the semester starting with everyone taking about how they were getting Cs and Ds in this class, when it was "supposed" to be their easy class this semester. I also fell into this trap, and came in thinking that with 19 hrs this semester, this would be just a little extra, like PSY 100, or SOC 100, etc. Ms. Kim is a nice lady (really), but she will pull no punches on your grades, and will not argue with you about them. She pulls her questions on the test from the book (not required, but highly reccomended), her lectures (WRITE DOWN EVERY WORD SHE SAYS), and thin air (some of the stuff she had on the test was NEVER covered, believe me). Tests are 50+ questions with two short answers at the end (usually), and are often worded backwards, or strangely, or slightly modify correct answers to make them wrong, like SPF 15 instead of SPF 20. If you have a real head for remembering EXACTLY what she says, reading between the lines of what she lectures, and taking GOOD notes, you can get an A too in this class. Really, the tests are ALL your grade is based on, with little else going to assignments, etc. Overall a nice lady, but she will pitch a MEAN test EVERY TIME, so be prepared, and be warned!
