RUN AWAY! RUUUUUUUN!!!!!!
This class was awful - I was incredibly stressed just waking up on the days that I had it. Spoo eats, sleeps, and breathes archery, and doesn't care about bringing it down to a level we mere mortals can grasp. He delivers an obscene amount of information with absolutely NO organisation or guidance on why it should be learned, when it will be tested, etc. The actual shooting was fun at the beginning, but eventually just having to be in a room with him ruined that, too.

If you can take anyone besides spoo, do it. Bowling is brain surgery to him--and attendance is a MUST. If you do have to take him, all I can say is goodluck, if you were wanting an easy A, too bad--you will have too work for it. He requires just as much studying for his lame test, as a 3hr. course.

Spoo takes Bowling way to seriously. An 86 question final, 3 vocab quizes over every word in the book, a midterm over everything as well. He basically gives two cumulative finals, just calls one a midterm. You have to memorize virtually all the rules, all the vocab, history, dates, types of bowling balls, specifics of the lanes, pins, and a bunch of other worthless information. Luckily, bowling is no more here so you won't have to deal with his ridiculous class.

Dr. Spoo is way to serious about this class!! I mean for real, this is bowling... I just couldn't believe that we had a final on Friday 8 am of the finals week. Unbelievable!!! Even though I attended class every day, I still somehow got a B.
It's absolutely ridiculous for a professor of PE to be this serious....
Please don't take this guy if you think you can get an easy A. Believe me it's not easy.

Ahh yes, John Spoo, Doctor of Bowling. Takes it WAAAY to seriously. The tests are ridiculously harder than what they should be. But if you go to class you will get an A. Take it with some friends....most of the time you just bowl. Plus its fun to make fun of him because of how seriously he takes it.

Spoo takes attendance and its worth points, so go to every class. If you're a good bowler, you'll be fine. The tests are really hard and include details from the book.

Take Bowling for your PE credit, its really easy. A lot of people say you have to bowl at least a 160 to get an A, BUT THAT IS NOT TRUE. The only thing you have to do to make an A is show up everyday. I know a lot of college students don't understand that concept, so if you are a lazy ass and can't make it to class then you should probably take something else. You have to bowl three games for everyday you miss, and they have to be at another bowling alley. The midterm and final are worth 50 points each, they cover material in the little textbook you have to buy. I would definatly recommend getting it, becuase you have a quiz every Wednesday over vocabulary in the glossary. Go ahead and take bowling, it'll be fun.

It's bowling so you can't expect too much. I happen to bowl in a bowling league so I found this class very easy, but if there is one guy in the world that could make it hard it is Spoo. This guy wears a wrist gaurd with a watch over it, everyday! He lost my mid-term test for 3 weeks and after continual questioning on its whereabouts he kept telling me he hadn't had time to look for it. Time! One of the weeks during those 3 was spring break, in which he told me all he did was get a haircut. Time! Find some Time, it's your freakin' job. Besides having to listen to this moron the class is cake if you go everyday, two thumbs up

The course is easy, but this guy was a little too intense for a bowling class. He does count attendence big time. The quizzez are also overkill sometimes because of the number of definitions you have to study.

This was one of my favorite classes. Spoo is a fun, easy teacher. You bowl everyday, and take ten quizes throughout the semester, which is just ten different bowling terms each week from your book. The mid-term may surprise you, b/c you might think a bowling final would be simple, but it was actually a bit challenging. The final was easier b/c you knew what to expect. You do have to be there everyday, but it's worth it because you'll have a blast bowling with your friends. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a fun, easy PE class.

This is a course that you would absolutely have to try to not get an A. You don't have to bowl a certain score or even improve. There are 7 quizzes worth 50 points each and the midterm and final both count 50 points each. The quizzes are matching and are all terms from the back of the book which cost about $6. To get an A you have to get around 650 points in the class, he gives you 300 just for showing up, and with all the quizzes there is a possible 750 plus you're bowling average at the end of the class. You can get an A without ever rolling a ball.
