Western Kentucky University / F / Janet M. Fugate

Janet Fugate is the most unorganized, unhelpful teacher that I've ever had. She doesn't explain the material and then grades harshly. She actually discourages you from getting ahead on classwork and projects and then hits you with multiple assignments due during the same week. I've never had a teacher be so unwilling to work with students. Her lectures are dry and she talks down to students when they ask questions. If you can avoid her, take another teacher for classes that she teaches.

There are so many things to say! Well first she never grades anything. It took almost the whole semester to get work graded from the first and second week of school. So its hard to improve your work when you do not know what you are doing wrong till its to late. She grades really hard on assignments that she did not even explain how to do. She will not answer questions and if you get the privilege of an e-mail from her then you get a very general answer that really does not answer you question at all.

Fugate is good. Darbi is good. the mean stuff about darbi is wrong. are you even a student?

If you are reading the responses of the people with the sad faces, do not believe them. Janet Fugate is an awesome professor. She's not easy at all and I would say that she is better and more understanding that Dr. Darbi! The people who wrote those responses was probably college slackers and does not need to be in the early childhood profession anyways. Janet cares about her students futures and she gives a lot of busy work that is very beneficial when you go out into the work force. She is caring, great and awesome, but if you are one of those people who just expect good grades to fall into your lap then don't take Fugate if you want to learn and have materials that will help you in the future that she allows you to KEEP then take Fugate and not DARBI. Both of the ladies are extremely nice, but Fugate is awesome, and whoever wrote those bad comments about her was probably a loser student. Whoever reported her to the Dean I guess nothing happened because she is still walking around with her head strong and is considered one of the good professors at WKU!!!! Don't listen to those other idiots! TAKE FUGATE!!!!

I took 15 hours this past semester and this was by far the only class I stayed up at night worrying about. I turned in every assignment on time and studied extremely hard for everything in this class. The only reason I had to take it online is b/c it was not offered in a time slot that I could take it on campus. I didn't take it b/c I wanted an EASY grade like some people think online classes offer. I take every class serious b/c I pay my own way through. I just do not think this teacher was very nice to me during the semester and she was VERY difficult to work with. I was warned prior to signing up for this class not to take her but I had no other choice.

She is very difficult to talk to so if you do plan on taking her you might want to find a friend that you can work with b/c Fugate doesn't like to be bothered by her students.

Ms. Fugate is tough, but she knows her stuff. There are bonus points available. I know some students want an easy grade, and took online class because they thought it would be easy. She makes you learn, but isn't that what teachers are supposed to do? I think the ratings for her are really unfair - I know the students in the class (even though we are online) and they are mad because they had to do the work.

This teacher is by far the worst teacher at WESTERN. She is supposed to be a child studies teacher and the character of those type of people should be caring, warm, loving and at least nice. This woman is heartless, rude, and cold person. And I cannot believe I pay my hard working money to have a horrible teacher like her. I REALLY HOPE SHE READS THIS B/C SHE NEEDS TO KNOW HOW HER STUDENTS FEEL ABOUT HER. For the rest of my college career I will forever warn people of her. I am also reporting her to the Dean and Head of the dept after the semester is over b/c of somethings she did to me at the beginning of the semester.

This lady is a heartless evil woman who doesn't care about your feelings. She needs to take her own advice on things she tells you. On one of my papers she complained because she said I needed to learn to proof read which I read it and there was only 2 things wrong. The next week I took her final and on almost every question there was something mispelled. This was a timed test and it took me extra long because I had to try to understand what she meant buy it. She thinks she is God but really she is the complete opposite! Do not take her all though it is impossible if you are a child studies major!! If you have to take her be prepared for having the most inconciderate woman on the face of the earth!!

Dr. Fugate is not a nice person. She is often rude and even when you go to her for one on one help, it doesn't help. Of course she makes you feel like you are doing fine, But just wait till you turn that paper in, She will eat you alive and if you feel great about it, she will tell you that you have no idea what you are talking about. Oh and then she fails you with no explanation! She is rude and doesn't care to treat people like crap

It helps to have the book and read along in the chapters that she covers with the online notes that she gives. The class itself is very boring, but it is very easy to get a good grade. She gives tons of extra credit opportunities. Attendance is taken each time, but it is not really counted for grade wise. The final is only the very last portion of like 2-3 chapters that we covered. Only on the third test did she have fill in the blank..it was mostly a list type question. Overall, if you can't get into the web course of this class then take her!

Janet Fugate is a very nice and understanding professor. If she knows that you are trying then she will give you the benefit of doubt. She doesnt tolerate slackers but is very easy if you try

I think that Janet Fugate is a wonderful teacher. She makes her class really easy and is VERY understanding when you have difficulty or are having trouble at home. I have had her for CFS 193, 194, and I am currently taking her for CFS 313. I have really enjoyed having her as a teacher and hope to have her again in the future.

This lady is evil. I will have her again as I am going to retake her class. I just detest her. She tells people that she doesn't care weather you come to class and then decides at the last minute that she is going to include attendance in her grading. She loves to suprise people with her tests and gets this evil little grin on her face. She needs help. She doesn't seem to understand people getting sick and then acts like it is no big deal when she cancels her final because she is going out of the country.
