Professor Dietle prepares excellent lectures for his classes. He is very knowledgeable and if you listen carefully, he does tell jokes but you will only get them if you're paying close attention in class. He assigns a lot of reading material, but none of it is "busy work" and it complements the lectures very nicely. If you are interested in history, I highly recommend Professor Dietle. However, if you are you looking for a way to fill in 3 hours or get an "A" without trying, I suggest you look elsewhere.
