This class was cake! I loved Professor Wales, she is so nice and sweet. She scared me just a little at first but once we got to know her we all came together as a class. We did a lot of group work which was an easy grade and wrote a total of 3 papers, not hard a all. Take her! SO easy!

Dr. Wales is one of my favorite professors at Western! You will be intimidated by her syllabus, but it's not as bad as it looks! You will learn a lot in her course, but it won't be a class that you can just sit back and do nothing and still get by.

Dr. Wales is an awesome english professor. Before I took her class, I was horrible at grammar. There are quizzes everyday, but they are not that bad. She gives you a syllabus that is very detailed, so you know what to expect. When you see the syllabus for the first time it is scary, but it is not impossible. She is a very helpful and an amazing professor. If you do the work and do your best, you will do fine.

Dr. Wales teached one of the easiest classes i have taken so far at Western, im going into my junior year. Only reason i didnt get an A was i had multiple tardies. She is pretty strict on attendance, but she makes the class fun. You have a daily quiz over a short story or poem, she gives you 10 minutes to complete. But if you dont finish in the time given, she will let you take it home and return it anytime. I probably turned in about five or six on the last day of class. She told us she was going to give us a final but instead just counted our group presentation over Hamlet as our final. Every group in the class got an A on the presentation, and you also do 3 or four 4-5 page papers, but she is very leniant on length of paper, topic, and due date. Despite the fact that she is so leniant and even borderline pushover, she is a great teacher and i really learned a lot. She also has some great life stories, and she's pretty witty, unlike most of my other cheesy professors. And if she does occassionally make a cheesy joke, she usually acknowledges it and laughs at herself. I have great respect for Dr Wales both as a teacher and a person. Highly recommend taking her classes.

She was an amazing teacher, so cool. I really do not like English but she made me love this class. You have to work, but it is not so bad if you have a teacher like her. I really learned so much from her class. Take her if you can, but her class fills up quickly.

Dr. Wales was one of my best teachers in my freshman year. She gave a quiz at every class meeting (which made up 1/3 of the grade). We wrote lots of 3 to 4 page papers, these made up 1/3 of the grades too. The final was an essay, 800 words and this made up the final 1/3 of the grades. Do all your wok I.e. quizzes and papers, attend every class meeting and you will be fine.

I loved Professor Wales. I learned a lot from this class but she made it very fun. There are no tests, but obviously since it is an English class you have to write a few papers. They were all easy and she extended all our deadlines. You have to read a short story or poem every class period for homework and you take a quiz everyday which helps to pad your grade if needed. She is very understanding and wants you to do well in her class. She has a great sense of humor.

I've read the other comments about this wonderful woman and I completely agree. She had a strict attendance policy(only missing one day with an excuse) but overall she was a very laid back and understanding person when it came to various occurences. Personally, this wasn't a class that I'd want to miss anyway. If you read the assigned reading, show up, and take the daily quiz/test (primarily your opinion supported with quotes) then you will do well in the class. Not only is the class real easy, but her wild personality will make it worth the while. She has some wonderful stories about her life experiences that will truthly make you reflect on your own life. I strongly suggest you taking a class with her. You won't regret it!

Dr. Wales is a great lady that you will really love. I absolutely loved this course, and really feel that I learned alot, in that this course was moderately difficult, but ultimately enjoyable. Dr. Wales will give you a quiz/test every day you meet, at the beginning of class, which is primarily an essay response concerning a prompt about the reading you were assigned to have completed before this class meeting. These responses are the primary source of your grade, so do take them seriously. You will be graded on Content and Grammar separately, with the composite of these scores being your ultimate score for the quiz/test. Dr. Wales also does something extraordinary: she makes the first half of the class more difficult than the last half, in an effort to balance the semester work-wise, since ALL other classes on campus use the inverse (you know what I'm talking about), where the last month of class is hell, with the last death-knell being the Final. Her final is no joke, and WILL take the entire 2 hrs, with me ending up writing 2900 words, and feeling that I needed more time to fully do the four prompts justice. Dr. Wales is a very interesting woman, who has had extensive life experiences, and has a very balanced and interesting outlook on life that almost everyone can learn from. You will learn that she has done more so far in her life, than most every do, through her stories of her past experiences. Also, another last note: she requires quotes in your responses to directly back-up your points, so be sure to appreciate their importance as well. Dr. Wales is a great professor, and really taught an interesting an enjoyable class that I looked forward to each and avery class meeting.

dr. whales is a wonderful woman in every aspect. the first day of class she handed us a 10 page syllabus telling us we had an essay quiz EVERY meeting and a grammar quiz once a week. i was for sure that i was going to drop the class. but after the first quiz i knew it wasn't what i thought it was going to be. there was an essay quiz every meeting just like she promised but the essay only had to be 50 words long and it was OPEN BOOK. the final was three questions and it was open book as well. she's very lenient on her grading scale. reading is required but it's a literature class, you cant really find one that doesnt require reading. i HIGHLY RECCOMEND dr. whales for any of your english classes.

Wales is a very nice lady. There is a quiz everyday in the course, but she will give you a good grade if you back up your answer with a quote. She's easy to talk to and treats you like an adult. She's very smart and made the class fun. There are no tests except the final which she prepared us for. She's a great teacher.

I had Dr. Whales for a night class it was so easy. We watched plays and read stories in class and then were quizzed over it! All you have to do is pretend you know what you are talking about and you can pull a B or C. I wish she tought Eng 300 because i would take her again.
