Additional Comments |
Dr. Scott is, by far, one of the worst teachers I have had while at Western. While he does know his stuff, he does not interact with students at all. He seems almost afraid to talk with them. He says that he welcomes questions on the material, but he seems to not want to call on a student to ask what they want. Also, he has a problem with keeping discipline in his classroom. Students are being loud and obnoxious but are ignored so that lecture may continue. It makes it hard for students to pay attention to the lecture. Too much time is spent on slides and board drawings and not enough on really individualizing the material. It seems as if he has taught this class so much that he could do it in his sleep. He is a nice man, don't get me wrong, but he needs to focus more on one-on-one interaction and personalization. Another bad thing is that he talks during tests and in-class assignments.
