Mayhew is a horrible professor. He'll give you a program to write with 5 or 6 pages worth of instructions, and everything has to be followed to the letter othewise you will lose all kinds of points. He teaches class very slowly, and when someone asks a question he may or may not answer it, depending on his mood, and if he does answer it, it may take him 15-20 minutes to explain a simple concept. The class isn't that hard, the only real trouble is trying to figure out exactly what he wants and tayloring your work to that and staying awake. Avoid him if you can. But if its anything like this year he is the only professor that teaches it.
