First off, Trigonometry isn't easy for a lot of us who have to take it. For a difficult class, Dr. Richmond made it easier than what I though it would be. She gives lots of home work. Trust me, you need the practice so when it comes time to take the exam you are prepared. At the beginning of each class she will ask if there are any problems from previous homework she needs to explain. There is your chance to ask about something you don't know. I never had problems when it was time for the exam because I made sure I knew how to do the math. Dr. Richmond is thorough when working math problems and is happy to stop and explain something you don't understand. You have to put some effort into the class if you want to do well.

She doesn't explain subject matter well and is very fragmented in her style. If you're not willing to teach yourself the material and are good at it, don't bother taking this class.

THIS IS THE WORST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!!!!! Seriously! I could not feel more strongly about how much this lady needs to be fired. She cannot teach AT ALL, she gets mixed up on the problems when she tries to do them herself and can't answer anyone's questions in a way they can understand. The fact that she expects anyone to do well on her quizzes and tests after the way she teaches the material is rediculous. She is unwilling to help outside of class and is completely unapproachable. I am a straight A student and ended up with a C in this class. I think I actually cried when I looked at the final. This is not just one of those evaluations where you didn't try hard enough so you got the bad grade you deserved and don't like the teacher, I really tried and this lady is HORRIBLE! Wait until the next semester if you have to but DONT TAKE HER WHATEVER YOU DO!

Other people said she can't teach. Had something on the final she never went over in class. Shame her salary is being paid by our tuition. unless you're very good at math, do not take her.

Mrs. Richmond is quite possibly the worst teacher I have personally ever had in my entire life. Do not ever take a class with her as the teacher because all she sucks at explaining or for that matter even understanding some of the things that she is talking about.

She is the absolutely worst teacher I have ever had. She gives those tests that you look at don't understand anything and want to cry. A friend of mine turned her final in blank. She can't explain anything and even if you try to understand it you will probably fail. Math was my best and favorite subject in high school and I want to kill myself everytime I go to class. She gets confused with her own words and pulls letters and numbers out of her ass. She shouldn't be a teacher and I HIGHLY RECCOMMEND you don't take her. If thats your last choice of a teacher I wish you the best of luck.

DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!!!! I am a math major, and I took calc. in high school and passed will a solid A. I only took 116 b/c my advisor recommended it. She is horrible!!! She can't explain the problems at all, she gets all mixed up when she attemps it herself. There is NO extra credit and a hard quiz everyweek. She gives a ton of homework. The workers in the math lab can't help you if you take her class. I would strongly recommend that you get a take teacher!!!!!

DONT TAKE HER!!! She is probably the worst teacher at Western, I promise. Do not take her unless you want to go through the hell that I went through by taking her. It was a big mistake. I would have rather gotten hit by a train than gone to her class. No extra credit, quiz every week and tests that are impossible. Take my word, and everybody elses word, DONT TAKE THIS TEACHER!! Even if you are good at math, you will not do good in her class because she cant teach. I became a dumber person by taking her. TRUST ME!!

She is HORRIBLE. Do not take her if you do not want to have to take 116 again. Even if you are good at math, you will struggle. First of all, she is from Germany or something and you can hardly understand what she says. You can not understand what she is trying to teach you. She explains nothing, just does the problem and thats about it. She gets confused with what you ask and often confuses herself when she is working problems. She doesnt really help you on homework and with problems and there is absolutely no extra credit. She doesnt really care what you get in the class. I stress that you do not take her if you dont want to fail 116.

Ms. Richmond is German, I think, and it's sometimes hard to understand her and she gets confused herself. She can't explain anything, doesn't know how to answer your questions, and unless you are just super good at Algebra you are going to seriously struggle. I was a straight A student until her. She is not willing to help, there is no extra credit and you have a quiz everyweek which hurts your grade tremendously. DONT TAKE HER.

She is a great professor. You have to be a motivated student to do well in her class because she doesn't grade homework. You have to make yourself do it so you will understand the concepts taught in class. She explains very well and if you have a problem, she will work individually with you until you understand it. I would recommend her to anyone.

RIchmond is practically impossible to understand. She does not explain things well. She expects you to grasp everything on your own. If you go to her one-on-one she is better at explaining things. If you are good in math then you will probably be okay, but I still do not recommend her. You can tell she knows the material, she just doesn't know how to explain it in English very well. I got a C in her class and I am an A-B student. My C was hard work! I do NOT recommend this woman!

If you are good in math and if you HAVE to take her, you should be fine. She explains most of the material in a confusing way because I think she gets confused about what she is teaching. The final was really hard. I had a solid A before the final and I studied hard for it.

I found this class very easy because I have a good background in math. However, she is a very poor teacher. I found that if I didn't pay attention in class I would do ok, but the moment I listened I would get confused. If you don't understand math don't take her. If your good in math and did ok in high school geometry take her, she gives major extra credit on tests. She puts about 130 points available on each test, and whatever amount of points you get is your grade out of 100, so you have about 30 free points.

I am not done with this class yet...but for the love of god, DON'T TAKE HER! I am making a good assumption that I have a C in there. I really haven't learned that much. I really don't think that she likes to think that she is wrong. If someone comes up with an answer in a different way, the class breaks out in an argument. I would really advise anyone to take someone else....
