Dr. Evards 109 math class was an awesome class. He has a very heavy french accent, but he writes everything on the board. If you really want a A or B in 109 take Dr. Evard. He has a quiz every period, but gives you the solutions for the quiz the day before the next class period. He gives a total of 27 quizes, and drops 6 of your lowest. All you have to do is go to class, take the quizes, and your home free. ! ! !

When you walk into this class on the first day you will think this man in playing a joke. He speaks very poor English, and is very hard to understand. I finally got to where I could understand my name when he handed back papers. However, his poor english will not matter. This class was easy. He uses four black boards, and feels them up with notes over and over again. He goes back and forth erasing. The notes are excessive, but you do not really even need to take them. I took notes at the beginning of the semester, but after that I pratically slept. He post all of your homework on Blackboard and you have to print it off and do it. The homework comes with examples on how to do it. You have a quiz every class period that are extremely easy. You can study for them while he is giving notes which sometimes makes him mad. They only have four to ten questions. You have a mandatory final, but if your quiz average is higher than your final he counts the quizes as more. He has a great grading scale. The class will get boring, but it is a very easy A. It is not one you will really fall behind in if you skip. He allows you to miss six quizes, which for me was three weeks worth of class. However, I do not recommend missing that many days. DO NOT BUY THE TEXT BOOK. I did not use it the entire semester. Do not be afraid to take Evard.

Dr. Evard is difficult to understand, he talks quietly and has a thick French accent. That said, he writes EVERYTHING on the board. He explains things fundamentally and simply, so that if you pay attention you will do well. He gives out homework to do in preparation for a quiz on each class day. The homework has answers, and explanation problems, and he goes over it all beforehand in class. The quizzes are exactly the same as the homework, with different numbers of course. For the final, he gives you a list of problems that could be on the final, so you do have a substantial amount to review/study, but it is much easier than studying everything you have learned. He grades leniently, if you come close or at least know how to do it, and show that, you'll get partial credit. If you can learn visually, and put in a little work each class, an A is very possible. I previously was not good at math, and got confused, but this teaching style worked great for me.

Although Mr. Evard has a strong accent and is sometimes hard to understand he writes everthing on the board. He was a great teacher and made math easy. I would recommend him to anyone.

He is French, and is hard to understand at first. You will get used to it though, and he will do anything to get his students to understand the material. There is a quiz at the end of every class over the previous night's homework. As long as you do the homework (easy, only a few problems online) you will do fine on the quizzes. There are no tests. You don't need the book. Overall, a very easy class. Take him.

This class is really easy. And Evard knows what he is talking about, but he barely speaks above a whisper. He writes everything on the board. But most of the stuff that he puts on the board is completely useless. It is incredibly boring. There are about 5 people in my class that actually pay attention to him. He doesn't give tests during the semester though. There is a quiz each and every day. But they are pretty much just the homework, which he puts on Blackboard, with numbers changed sometimes. And you take 39, but only 30 count, 2 are dropped, and 7 are extra credit. The class is really frustrating because of Evard, but it is still really easy. Though I haven't taken the cumulative final yet.

Bless his heart. This is one of the sweetest men ever! He is French and on the first day of class it was very hard to understand him but you get use to it. Everyday you have a quiz over the homework from the night before. The quizzes are not hard and you don't have tests except for the final which is accumulative. His class is lecture. He takes up the whole class time everytime b/c the quiz is at the end of class. He allows you to drop the two lowest quizzes and the next lowest 4 are bonuses! I love Dr. Evard, however it just tended to get a little boring at times

This class is easy. There are no tests. Only quizzes everyday. They are easy. Homework is almost exactly what the quiz is and the homework is not graded or handed in. There are 40 quizzes and you can miss up to 10 and still get 100. He grades 30 out of 40 drops 2 then the remaining 8 are bonus. He is french and his english is bad but the class is not hard at all. The final is cumulative but it is over the quizzes and you will be given the quiz and problem numbers to study.

Jean-Claude in an awesome teacher if you learn visually. He is really hard to understand at first but you get used to it pretty quickly. He gives you lots of different ways to explain one concept. he gives quizzes everyday but if you do the homework you'll get an A of the quiz. He also gives you ten quizzes to drop. and he has no tests, only the final. Overall I would recommend him to any visual learner.

I am not good at math at all but did great in this class. The teacher does in fact have a stong french accent but you get used to it over time and can understand him better. There was a generous amount of extra credit that he gave which did help me out. I wouldn't stress if you have Jean-Claude for a teacher, it's not so bad! He gives you practice quizzes and then a real quiz the next class meeting. They are exactly the same only the numbers are changed. I did not buy a book for this class because it wasn't needed but it was a summer class.

Dr. Evard is a good teacher, and he provides students with many extra credit opportunities. You don't have to go to the class, but it is helpful. All of the homework is extra credit, and the test problems come from the homework.

If you are good at math and can learn on your own this is a good class to take because it's easy. However, if you really need someone to explain step by step how to solve a problem you shouldn't take this class. The teacher DOES NOT SPEAK ENGLISH! He is French and very shy and cannot understand questions that students ask nor can the students understand him. He gives homework, but it's not madatory. The way he works in quizzes is that they can only bring your grade up, not down. The test you have to take, but if you get zeros on the quizzes it doesn't matter because they won't hurt your grade. They do help prepare you for the tests though. He also gives practice problems to prepare for tests. If you took a lot of math in high school it's easy, like a review. If your major requires more math classes than just 116, then you might want to take someone else who will cover mere material. He is a really sweet little man, he just doesn't know our language outside of numbers.

Dr. Evard is a good teacher. Don't be scared by the heavy French accent. He writes everything he says on the board. Whatever you do, DO NOT BUY THE BOOK. I know it sounds weird for a math class but he gives you his own homework sheets, solution sheets and example pages. He also gives study guides for the tests. It is totally possible to make a 100% is this class. And I am not even a math person.

This class was weird. Mr. Evard has such a thick French accent and I think Parkinsons or something to he walks kind of slow and shakes a little. He talks so low you can't hear him AT ALL!!! I'm not over exaggerating! But he wrote everything on the board and passes it out on paper afterwards. But when you ask for help you can't understand him, I would have preferred another teacher though!!

Mr. Evard makes all the material very easy. It takes a little while to get use to his accent, but he writes everything out anyway. He is very sweet and patient. It is very easy to make an A in his class.

Mr. Evard is a great guy, don't get me wrong. But he has a very heavy French accent, and it is hard to understand what he saying most of the time. He spends pretty much the entire class writing notes on the board, and doesn't really teach you how to do anything. He does give quizzes almost every week though for extra credit. The reason I got the grade I did is because I'm good at math, and I didn't even go most of the time. So if you're good at math and want a class that you can just show up for a on test dates, take Mr. Evard.
