I've heard from other students that Xing is a real hardass, but this class really was just a joke. Every single person walked out of the class with an 'A', and did nothing to earn it. All the information in the class could easily be learned in less than an hour. :P

He is a real Communist from China. Worst Guy ever on Earth may be. Although his language is terrible, he doesn’t seem to accept that fact. He was a terror through out the semester. His biggest problem is that, when he wrote a compiler it never worked, so he thinks no one else's code must work. I think he has no right to teach any course, instead its still surprising as to how someone can employ this person in the first place. He is very very partial and was obvious at the end of the semester. Correction had always been terrible, with no consistency. Definitely HE IS NOT A TEACHER.......... AVOID HIM...

He is like a hell.Doesnt know what he is talking about. He cut the point in the exam for no reasons and with no consistancy. And when you ask the reason, he wont be able to justify and not even think over it. I took around 2 months to understand his pronounciation. He always 'Sink' instead of 'Think'. and there are lots of like this. Many a times he would say, "I can better explain this in chinese instead of english" You would like to say, "Go back to china" but u dont, because you are also worried about grades and passing the class.

Hello All,
I found this site with one of my friend's recommendation. I want to let you all out there know that, if at all you want to take a class from a professor, make sure you take a class from someone who "teaches" or atleast "tries to teach".
Dr. Xing is a horrible teacher. May be he is intelligent, but as a professor he is a failure. i feel bad saying this but, hey thats what the truth is.
i know better subject about operating systems that he does. I can do a far better job in teaching if i was given a chance.
I used to have a teacher in my 3rd grade, who used to open a text book and read from it in a class. And after 16 long years and in my master's program, i have Dr. Xing again, who thinks that he can do a better job in reading a text book than me.
i hope i made my self clear, if u are still not satisfied with my analysis, you can take his class and SUFFER.
