Additional Comments |
Some people may find Russell Moore amusing, but I personally think he's an idiot. And while I find some idiots amusing, Mr. Moore is just annoying. He's extremely OCD and will not start class until his desk is properly adorned with his Big Red plush and his WKU red towel, and his desk is straightened a certain way. He will proceed in wasting time by repeating phrases like "Poetry is good!" and "Read!" (which is frequently the "Word of the Day"). He will also have several visual aids, just in case you didn't catch that he said "Poetry is good" and/or "Read!"
There is hardly ever any homework in this class, which could be good if you have enough self-motivation to keep up with the reading. However, don't think you can just read the material and then not come to class. His tests consist of minute details that he find amusing in the assigned reading, so you have to be in class to hear what amuses him. The way you can tell if he finds something amusing is if he repeats it several times in a row. Sometimes he'll make up some silly way of remembering a specific section of the book. Then on the test he'll have you match one of his made-up words/phrases with the title of a story. So if you're ADD (if you aren't already, this class might cause it) then you won't do very well on the tests. If you're not ADD and you can stand to put up with the rantings of a crazy man, then maybe this class is for you.
