This class was horrible and Dr. Coleman isnt the greatest. We had presentations on tuesdays and excel cases on thursday not once did we talk about the book i dont think he even mentioned it at all but we had homework and a quiz over every chapter online and when i asked him to help us study for the midterm by giving us a study guide or class review or something he completly ignored me! i got an A in this class but totally worked my but off. If you get stuck with Dr. Coleman its not too bad but he wouldnt be my first choice that's for sure!

Took this class online. He is a total jerk and does not give a damn about anybody. The excel cases are pretty difficult and his tutorials are worthless. He is overall a rude guy and if you have an opportunity take someone else.

The online lectures were hard to understand. often the professor would begin to give an example then stop half way through his sentence and move on. the tests were difficult to understand what he was asking. about 25% of the questions on the test were straight from the quizzes... or at least the tests I took. the quiz and tests are timed, and the time limit in no way gives you ample time to finish all the questions so that you feel confident about.

This course has a very very nice setup to it. I really like coleman as a teacher. The labs are time consuming especially if you want a good grade on them, but make sure you put the extra effort on them because they are the largest portion of your grade.
I think coleman is one of the better teachers in the CIT/CIS department as he is lightning quick on his email responses, and he is super good about explaining questions. You can learn a lot from this guy.
He is fast at grading assignments and posting as well very very organized teacher unlike some of the CIT/CIS instructors at WKU.
Take him if you want to learn a great amount about the given subject especially wireless he knows his stuff.
I do not think the workload he gives is unfair at all it is actually quite reasonable for a bi-term course.
Take him you learn a lot and he is a more than fair instructor A+++++

Ok, this eval might not be that good but since I have worked in the computer field for years and I eat breath sleep computer stuff and im the biggest computer dork youll ever meet well this class was super fun and easy
It is time consuming but go figure its a bi-term. I really enjoyed the class except for the group project. I think group projects are the stupidest thing ever. When a teacher does this he/she is putting the fate of your grade in others hands. Well lets see I am going to vent. I still got an A in the class but lemme tell ya the only grade I got that was below class average was the group project. The first two group assignments I completely did all by myself. and my group scored perfects. I got sick of doing all the work because I had 18 college hours and two other classes that required a ton of time so i was like ok look you dont pull your weight you do not get your name on the paper. I was a little harsh but oh well
Coleman is super super super super super GOOD about returning emails I think that guy sits at his email box and stares at it praying he gets an email to respond too because seriously I would email this guy and then have a response back in seconds it seemed.
I do think the directions on posting to the board could have been clearer or something so definitely read the syllabus on posting to the black board several times ask him to make sure you understand because I heard there were some dumb bells in the class that did not understand this STILL at weeks 5 and 6
I failed to get posting to the blackboard points on the first week because well i never read teacher syllabus but after missing out week one i was determined to not miss another posting to the blackboard point

This the first of the CIT courses you have to take in the CIT program. It is totally online. There is one project due each week that normally involves screenshots and making videos. Discussion board posting is a must and required. There was one multiple choice syllabus quiz. There was one team project which wasn't too bad. All in all the class wasn't that hard it just required a lot of time over 8 weeks.

The worst department at Western. This class is nothing but busy work, that one professor comes up with and has his TA's teach. Fall 05 the class is suppoesed to be redesigned. If at all possible take this class at another school or at the community college. Coleman doesn't even know half the stuff you work, so don't ask him for help cause you won't get any.

This class is basically an at-home learning class. You can show up, but don't expect your teacher to do much. I bought the book because he said it was going to be very helpful. It's not. Don't buy it. It's confusing, and most of the stuff you are tested on is not covered in the book. Basically, I just went in and took the home tests and sort of learned from those. Then, took the lab tests. It worked well. I got all A's and one B on the lab tests. Mostly, this class is just frustrating. Mr. Coleman doesn't make it any easier. The only thing he says right off is that you never have to show up to class.
