This was my first online course and it worked out really well. If you take some moderate notes on the chapter (eg writing down terms and definitions and making sure you understand the charts) you'll do fine. You email short homework assignments every few weeks and take an online test over several chapters. You can use your book and notes for the test. The professor is easy to get ahold of by email, phone, or in person if you do have trouble.
Don't waste time in a classroom!
