She is the worst teacher I've ever had at Western. Way too many notes and her tests don't make any sense. You have 2 tests 100 points each and a final worth 200 points. The tests are 100 questions, it's ridiclious! There pictures/paintings to memorize for each tests, you'll have to know the title, year, artist for like 30 of them!!! Theres 5 in class activities worth 5 points each, she doesn't tell you when, its a surprise and also you'll have 5 take home assignments. DON'T TAKE HER!!!

Arnold is an amazing professor. She draws most of her lectures from the textbook, but it is obvious she knows what she is talking about - art. She'll answer any questions and is extremely helpful. Her class isn't difficult at all, but at the same time you learn a lot about art. I definitely recommend one of the few good professors at WKU!

Hated this class! For an art 100 way too much material for someone who knows nothing about art.

Professor Arnold is a very fun and knowledgeable teacher. She is mostly lecture however, almost every class there is an activity (drawing, etc.) Don't take her class if you think its going to be easy because it does require studying for tests and actually showing up for class. The test are somewhat difficult but if you studied then you'll do fine.

This was the best class ever! It really helps you to grow as an artist, and if you are and art major I highly reccomend taking her for this course. You critique just about every project you work on in class. They may seem long and a little boring, but it really helps you to think critically about your own work and learn what works and what doesn't.
She doesn't give any written tests, but be sure to keep EVERYTHING you do, because you have to turn in a protfolio for the final.
If you get a chance to take this class go for it!

She is such an awesome teacher!!!! You have a few quizzes every once in a while that are over some readings, but most of the time you just do your drawings...... Make sure you go to class because she takes off BIG at the end of the semester if you dont go! She is a cool teacher and I recommend taking her if you can!!!

I got an A and didn't have to work too terribly hard for it. You need the book to study for the test, but that's it. For heaven's sake - SHARE!! The tests are kinda tough - there are four. The final is just the fourth test. They are over 3-4 chapters each. The notes are long and boring, she goes really fast so they are frustrating to follow. I hated going to class but the A was worth it. The study guides for the test are really good and she emails them to you before the test. If you have a laptop - bring it to type the notes... your hand will get tired if you write them all!

The class was pretty easy. She offers 59 extra credit points for the 500 point class. Just go to class and take notes and do the assignments for ART and an A should be pretty easy. She gives out study guides/ tells you what will be on the test exactly the meeting before the class. Good teacher and a easy class.

Mrs. Arnold is a new teacher at Western Kentucky University. You can tell that she's really passionate about her subject of expertise. She loves Art and everything about it. You have to really pay attention in class and really listen because it will be helpful when the tests come. Her tests aren't extremely hard, yet they're not extremely easy. The best way to study for her Art class is to make note cards (just a suggestion). If you need any help she's more than willing, and she loves feedback from students and loves to see how they think. She gives TONS of extra credit opportunities so do as much as you can...it's well worth it in the end.

this class was awesome. she is really enthusiastic and energetic about art and she is open to a lot of ideas about art. she gives interesting challenging cool assignments and i found it to be the funnest class. i also found it to be my most challenging class (harder than my honors class). she will really push you to go beyond your limit and improve, but she does it in an encouraging way. the critiques felt long and boring sometimes but they were important and i really felt like it helped me develop my ability to think about ideas in art. if you just want to take art because you think it will be easy and you wont have to take it seriously, you will probably hate it. if you really care about art and want to improve and learn, you should totally take this class.
