Dr. Wade is fun and she does her best to make tax interesting. Unfortunately I bit too much off during the semester and took auditing, contemporary issues and non-profit at the same time so I wasn't able to give the class the attention it deserved but overall she really wants you to do well. The test are super intense and detail but she levels the playing field by allowing you to fill out a cheat sheet (front and back) to use during the test. most of the assignments are done in groups and the tax projects she is willing to help you out if you ask her. Great class

Mrs. Wade is the best acct teacher. She's really enthusiastic and gave tons of extra credit. You have to go to the class to take note and do the in-class activities. In your test, there will be multiple choices and problems. She gave unlimited attempts in Wiley Plus so that you can do it until you do it right. She's available all the time and always ready to help you whenever u need. Choose her!

Professor Wade was a very good teacher. She could be a little boring sometimes, but she knows what she's talking about and she gives awesome tips on how to remember the difficult parts of accounting. She made a study guide for each exam (including the final) listing everything you needed to understand from each chapter.
I would highly suggest going to class. If it weren't for the extra points, I probably wouldn't have done as well and I never skipped. Make sure you really learn stuff as you go. If you don't you'll get confused later on and get similar concepts mixed up.

Dr. Wade is a really nice teacher. She tries to make accounting as painless as possible. Her class is tough, but if you study alot you will be okay. There is a lot of homework, but doing it helps you on the tests.

I took this class thinking it would be easy.While Ms Wade does help you with your work inside and outside of class.She makes her tests extremely hard.I would take Callahan if you want an easy grade,however if you truly want to learn accounting take Ms.Wade will make you learn it however her tests are way too hard

Dr. Wade was very easy to understand and she always serious about helping her students. She gives her cell number so if you have any questions you can call her and she can help or walk you through the problem. She is very organized and it definitely helps that she knows the information AND can relay it clearly. I reccomend going to class, otherwise it is difficult to understand. I had an A in the class, up until the final, which is a cumulative departmental final. I would highly reccomend Dr. Wade.

Dr. Wade is a pretty awesome teacher. When I took this class, I was anxious about it. But she is good at bringing it down to your level and making it understandable, without making you feel stupid. The book is a MUST in this class, plus the Wileyplus code you buy with it. The Wileyplus problems are a big help, and you can get a total 35 points on them to go toward your final grade. She has in-class and group assignments that count for 25 points toward your final grade, plus a project you complete through the course that count for 15 points. There are a total of 500 points you can get, so these problems and projects can be a big help if you struggle with the tests. The final is a departmental final that every accounting teacher has to give. I made C's on the tests and a B on the final and pulled out with a B.
My advice: Take Dr. Wade. At the first sign of not understanding the material ASK FOR HELP. Accounting builds on itself.

According to at least 4-5 other people that I talked to, their acct professors make their tests much easier than she does.

Dr. Wade does a very good job explaining the material and moves through it at the right pace. She is very helpful and makes herself available to students outside of class. There are opportunities for extra credit on quizzes and exams.
This is material you can only learn by doing, so you really need to do the Wiley+ exercises including the extra ones that aren't for credit. If you go to class and do the exercises, you should be able to make a good grade.

Great teacher. I was really nervous about accounting because everyone had told me that it was a really hard class. She went at a great pace though. She didn't dumb it down too much which I liked, but also, she put it in basic terms that everyone could understand. This is not a class to skip out on homework though. It is taken for a grade, and it REALLY REALLY helps you understand the material better. She also gives extra online practice questions before the test and they are great too. It shows you how to do each problem if you struggle too much which pretty much saved me. She is very nice and I would definitely recommend her.

Professor Wade is a good instructor overall and i felt like i learned a lot but i thought the tests were very unfairly constructed. Most tests had about 15-18 multiple choice and 3 or 4 actual accounting problems. Though the multiple choice questions were very closely related to the problems, the fact that all of the focus in class was directed to the problems it made it very hard to try and answer the multiple choice on the test. I found that most people lost points on the multiple choice section. So if you take her I would read every page.

GREAT TEACHER! Highly recommend Mrs. Wade. She's very helpful and will answer any questions you have. She even gives you her cell number at the beginning of the course incase a student needs to call with questions. The course did take practice though. Don't expect to go in and just try to memorize, you actually have to learn. You will need the text book if you want to practice and reference.

Dr. Wade is an outstanding teacher. I have never seen anyone make a tedious subject so easy to understand. Make sure you go to class though. If you fall behind then you will be hurting. She offers extra credit and gives out great study guides for all of her exams. Take her if this class is required. She's the best in the department.

Stacy Wade is a great professor. She made accounting so fun and so hard turns out to be so easy. Her notes is on the board and she write everything out just like you so you can't miss any notes. She is willing to stay after class and help if needed, there are also review session before every test. There are also assignment on Wiley Plus and other practice. If I ever see she teaches other class in accounting I would total take her without questioning.

This is an accounting course, you need to come, take notes, and practice so you know how to work the problems. We did a work on an online program called WileyPlus which comes with the book. It's really useful and helps a lot with understanding the problems. Ms. Wade is also a pretty good teacher...sometimes. It can get a little fuzzy as to what she's talking about at times but she will definately help you and clear things up. Her tests aren't that bad and are out of 105 which means there are always 5 bonus points.

Some thought that Dr. Wade wasnt a very good teacher but I didnt mind her because she was pretty laid back and you could come to her for any questions that you had regarding tax. You get to write out a cheat sheet on an 8.5 x 11 paper front and back. I wouldnt recommend writing down the slides word for word because not everything on the slides are covered on the tests. I found it more helpful to study the slides and only write down the things that were hard to memorize and with the rest of the space i had left just write down problems from the book. When preparing for her tests it is a must that you do the in class problems and homework problems as guidelines. Know how to do them and you will do fine on her tests. In my opinion the second test was the hardest because of the wide range of topics covered and the easiest was the third test which is NO LONGER a take home test.

Tuff class, good job at teachin it, test mainly problem solvin, you must know you stuff, you can't wing it or bs threw tests. Office always open for the students who can't get it in class. NOT a class to skip after tests or anytime. Fun if you like numbers. It is what you make. Every class is for that matter. Me, personally, never struggled, just let it come to you. study practice problems and test will be ok, still tuff, but manageble. Ive heard henson's good, wade's good i guess. I don't give a shit what you do. this is just my opinion. peace

I had Ms. Wade for ACCT 200 and then for ACCT 430 and she was great for both courses. I would definitely recommend her for either of these classes!! In ACCT 430, she mainly gives out outlines for which you should study by and she goes over them in class, so really you don't write a lot of notes. She is more laid back in this class this ACCT 200 and doesn't try to work you too hard on homework. I studied for each quiz and test and got A's on all tests and did good on all quizzes. She will drop the lowest quiz score and the final is a take-home test at the end of the semester. Have fun!

I took acct 200 previously with Dr. Aldridge and failed. When I took it again with Dr. Wade, I succeeded with flying colors. Dr. Wade is fabulous. She's young, funny, and she teaches you in kind of an elementary way...not like she's teaching a class of 3rd graders, but in a way almost anyone can understand. Any accounting class is difficult, so it's not like you can just skim through things and expect a decent grade on the tests. You have to study, but studying something you understand helps a lot!!!
There are 3 tests besides the final, a few quizzes worth 4 points each...basically there are 5 questions, so if you miss one, you still get full credit and if you get them all right you get an extra point. There's plenty of homework that she takes up for credit...which kind of stinks, but helps you study and understand. She doesnt check for correctness though, just makes sure you did it.
Overall, she's great. The only teacher to take for acct 200!

Dr. Wade is an excellent professor. Accounting is hard material, but she teaches it very well. She is willing to help you inside or outside of class. She cares about her students and wants them to understand the material. The last few chapters are rough, so don't fall behind. There are 3 tests and then the final. The tests are fair, and not hard if you study and do the homework. Attendance isn't mandatory for points, but you won't do well if you miss class. Dr. Wade is by far the BEST accounting professors on WKU, maybe even ever. I failed this class once in the past, so I knew it was going to be hard. She makes the materal much more easy to understand. She shows you how to do problems and dosn't go into gritty details of how it works. I went to three review sessons for the DEPARMENTAL final, I had know idea what the other two professors were talking about! Stacy Wade is the best accounting teachers PERIOD!

I absolutely loved ms. wade. Accounting is hard, but she tried to make it very easy to understand. She was always willing to let homework and other assignments be turned in late. (She let ANY homework be turned in all the way up to the final.) The final is very hard, but it is not her fault, because it is department wide. There were a few quizzes. Some of them were multiple choice.

This is obviously for most people a very difficult class, but Ms. Wade is a really good teacher. She really cares about how you do in the class and she is excellent as far as teaching the notes b/c they can often be difficult to understand. She also wants to make sure everyone is on the same page (which is very important) so she doesn't mind at ALL to show you how to do something again. She really is an excellent teacher for this class, I highly recommend her.
PS- best advice i ever received-**don't get behind in class. if you don't understand something-TELL HER-she will teach it to you. If you don't ask, you'll never understand and therefore will do badly on tests/quizzes/and the final.
I fell behind and went from an A to C!!

Dr. Wade is a great professor. She makes the tedious subject of tax less difficult to handle. She is very laid back and will adjust the class schedule if requested by her students. If you can't turn in an assignment by the due date, she will usually allow you to turn it in at a later date. However, sometimes she is slow about returning grades to you. No one else teaches this class, so you will have Dr. Wade. The class is difficult, simply because tax is not an easy subject. Be prepared to take a lot of notes. We had to write these early in the semester, but she later gave handouts. She assigns several things in the class. We had three short research assignments (5 pts. ea.), a group paper and presentation (10 pts.), two tax returns (15 and 30 pts), four quizzes (10 pts ea., the lowest grade dropped), two tests (100 pts. ea.) and a final (100 pts.). She allows you to use an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper on the first two tests and the final is a take home final. A difficult class, but Dr. Wade is a good teacher and I do feel that I learned about tax in the class.

Ms. Wade is so far the best teacher I have had here at Western. She is more than willing to give help you and answer any questions you may have. Her tests are fair and somewhat easy (if you study) and she always has a study session a few days before the test. You have homework assignments you can turn in whenever you want and a few group activities. She works problems on the board and you have to do a small project but it's easy if you have listened in class. I am an accounting major but dreaded this class, but with Ms. Wade, I loved it. I highly recommend her for this class.

I am not an accounting major, and I didn't really like some of the things we went over, but I really enjoyed her class. She is such a fun, kind, enjoyable teacher. S. Wade is a good teacher. She takes her time and explains everything. She is a fair test giver and will sometimes help out the class if they have done poorly by giving extra points else where. She is always looking out for the well being of her students and is very kind. I highly recommend taking her. I am not an accounting major, and I really don't like it. However S. Wade made it a litte bit easier.
