Western Kentucky University / D / Matthew Deaton

The teacher is awesome. He's young and he tells stories about his wife and kids but the class is completely unnecessary and you'd be crazy to take it. It's extra work that's not really hard but when you think about the fact that it's only two hours and you didnt even need it you never want to do it. So if you ever want to slack off dont take it especially if you're on scholarship. I skipped my mid-term.

This class was so much fun. Matt is a really nice teacher, and a really cool person. He is easy to get along with, and easy to talk to. You have five journal entries that you submit over the internet, which are real easy. You have to go to at least three events on campus, and write a half page summary over it. Your also required to read a chapter book, "Tuesday's With Morrie" and write a two page paper over it. That is real easy and the book is not a long book to read. In class all we did was have class discussions over school or whatever we wanted to talk about. We never did work in there. This is a great class and I recommend everyone to take it.

Mr Deaton is a great guy, he's incredibly easy to get along with and makes the class as enjoyable as it can be. The only assignments due are a few journals, summaries about activities you attended on campus, and a paper over an easy book. The class is extremely easy. All you need to do is show up. You'll get a lot out of his discussions.

This class is SO pointless... I really like the teacher but there is no use in going and he counts off for attendence... so it's not worth it

Mr. Deaton is so awesome!!!! There are no tests in his class, and you might as well show up b/c every class is a blast. He treats you like a person and can really relate to you.This class is super easy, with very few assignments. He really does give you the freshman experience by helping you to find yourself. TAKE THIS CLASS!!

This class was very easy and you learn alot about college life and western.Professor Deaton was a cool guy he was fun and usually told alot of jokes in class. Attendance isn't mandatory but you should go anyway b/c he gives you points for everyday you are there. The midterm was a paper written over Tuesdays With Morrie. The final was a letter that you had to write to an imaginary incoming freshman telling 3 aspects of college life that were discussed in class.

This is one of the easiest classes that you could ever take. I highly recommend it to everyone because it helps you to get familiar with the campus. Matt is a great teacher and he will make the class more exciting than most other professors.

HE IS SO AWESOME! He is really young, so cool and ust hillarious. His class is easy on purpose. He tries to help you. I loved him and I am going to miss him So much. I wish he taught something else. He was great. TAKE HIM FOR FRESHMAN SEMINAR, U WILL NOT REGRET IT!!

Matthew is a good teacher, but this class is useless!!!!! I am a non-traditional older student and the thought of this class being mandatory drove me nuts. If you can DON'T take this class.It's a waste of money.Some of my peers said that their advirsors told them not to take this class. My advisor told me it was MANDATORY. DON'T let you advisor steer you wrong ! You need to make your own choices.!!! This does not reflect on Matthew at all. He taught the course very well. It's the class that I didn't agree with.
