I took this class online, so it was very challenging. Professor Maxwell is very helpful, but the assignments are quite difficult. You have to basically create powerpoints and excel and access stuff and create your own website. All of the help I had was a syllabus and a course disk that had demonstration videos on it. There are a lot of things due at the beginning of the semester but then she gave us like 6 weeks to do a huge technology integration unit that's basically a huge lesson plan using technology (computers, internet, etc.) There is one big test in the middle of the semester and you use four powerpoints as notes that she includes on the course disk. It's online on blackboard and is very challenging. You only have an hour or so to take it. She had three "lab meetings" that were extra-credit/optional to attend to help explain assignments and she helped you by email and made office appts. with you if you need. Do not take this class online if you have the choice, but Prof. Maxwell is an OK choice for a teacher.

Do not take any other class with this grad. class. Lots of work and time went into this class. Maxwell answers emails quickly and gives you opportunities to resubmit assignments which is great. She is a nice teacher, but there was just way too many assignments!! Her syllabus is over 20 pages long if that tells you anything!!

I took this class online and it wasn't too bad. Five projects and four tests. The first three projects are creating a database, evaluating software, and creating a PowerPoint presentation. The last project....GOOD LORD!!!...it took me TWO WEEKS to complete....an integrated thematic unit with 5 lesson plans, 2 databases, reflective paper, introduction paper...it went on and on and on. Leave yourself plenty of time for the last project, other than that, not a bad course. Also, she is very helpful and returns work quickly.

EASY class. Just computer assignments. The biggest challenge is deciding what to do your projects on. You learn how you can use the computer and Internet in your classrooms, too.
