I hate writing, so I was worried going into a college writing classes, but Carr understands everyone comes from different writing backgrounds. Overall, there are no exams; only essays (3-5 pages) and journals (1 1/2-2 pages). You will have to read essays, but on average they are only about 4 pages long. If you can take Carr do it, you will be entertained!

There is no better professor for English 100 than prof. Carr. He is hilarious and definitely my favorite professor throughout the course of my 4 semesters here at western. All you have to do is write journals once a week which are really easy and as long as you write them he'll give you full credit. You have 3 essays you have to do which if you listen to what he says in class you will do really well on. The class was really entertaining and I actually learned a ton about how to be a better writer. If you want a fun and easy class that you'll actually learn in, take Prof. Carr.

Professor Carr is very funny and makes class very entertaining. He's young so he's very relatable. We didn't have one single test for this class. We had to write 3 papers. It was originally supposed to be four, but he dropped the fourth and cut the last one down two pages. The last paper was our final. You do have 'pop' quizzes over the aritcles in the book, but they're only five questions and you get to drop your lowest score out of five quizzes. We didn't even have the last quiz either. I took his class on Thursdays fall semester, two classes are cancelled because of fall break and thanksgiving. Easy class. You only get 2 absences, excused or unexcused, before your grade goes down a letter, but that was because we had class once a week. He may be more lenient with classes that meet multiple times a week. Highly reccommend him as a professor.

J.Carr is an amazing teacher. He actually loves his students and wants to see them succeed. He is SOOOOOO FUNNY. I absolutely love this guy. He will make you write 3 papers throughout the semester, but that is it. Take him and you will get at least an A or B!

Mr. Carr has been the best professor I have had on campus yet. He is a very nice teacher who tries really hard to make sure everyone understands the material. He really helped me improve my writing skills a lot. I would recommend taking Professor Carr if you want an easy fun class.

This, personally, was a waste of my time. I didn't pass the AP English exam because I am horrible at tests, but with all the information that my high school teachers drilled into my head was beyond this class. I even met with Carr and he said there was nothing to teach me. I admit there was hardly anything I carried away from this class. I liked the essays and journals rather than test after test. I also was able to read Nickel and Dimed which is a rather interesting book. He attempts to make this class enjoyable and if you are ready for it, it's a class for you.

Mr. Carr tries to be a student. He is a really nice guy and I really liked him. He tries to put himself on our level. Just be very thorough and detailed in your papers, talk in class, and you'll be just fine. I hope to take him for all of my English Classes. this is his first year teaching.

This is a pretty easy class. He gave us an incintive for having perfect attendance. Mostly journals and essays. Had some grammar reviews. Oh, and there are at least 2 in-class essays that you must complete(This goes for every English class). I would suggest that you take Mr. Carr. It's a pretty fun class. You also get points for participation.

Mr. Carr is hilarious! He makes everything fun and enjoyable! I liked his class! You never have tests because all you do is write journals (which are extremely easy) and essays (which he grades kind of hard on) but occassionally you have reading assignments out of your book and he will give you a pop quiz worth 5 points (EASY!)! I really excelled as a writer in his class!
