Seitz is the man! He teaches you what you need to know, and to hell with the rest! Plus, his sense of humor keeps you rollin.' I think he's retired now, but if you PS majors ever see his name pop up on the schedule bulletin, take him. You won't regret it!

Mr. Seitz is a great individual. If you ever decide to take a course with him, please just give him a chance. First impressions are deceiving. He is very knowledgeable of Political Theory and presents it in its' most basic form, simply what any Political Science major should know. Taking notes for this class is a killer but he keeps things interesting. Exams are easy, (there are three) but long: 7-10 theories, persons or words to identify and two, yes two essays. The book is a very easy read and believe it or not compatible with the notes. Use the two and you have an easy A, simple as that.

I am a Government major and this has been by far my favorite class! I would recommend Seitz for any corse he teaches. It is difficult material, but if you go to class and take notes you will do quite well.

Mr. Seitz is not a doctor. He did not receive a doctorate from anywhere, yet passes himself off as "Dr." How sad. Mr. Seitz also has an understanding of politics so poor that it is comical. He repeatedly informed our class that Regan was elected in 78(not an election year), Kennedy was elected in 62(not an election year), etc. The only time he correctly identified an election year was the year 1984. Unfortunately, he believed George Bush was elected that year. (Bush was, of course, elected in 1988, which would be 1990 in Seitz's usual theme of things.)
This man is also one of the most boring teachers I have ever had. Horrible class. Do not take this professor.

Seitz has kind of a bad reputation, but it's unjust. You will have to show up for class and pay attention. If you do that, you'll be fine. Critical thinking skills help a lot too. His tests are a section of identify/explain the significance of terms and a few essays. LOTS of writing for the tests, but he's a fairly easy grader. Getting off to a good start in this class seems to help too! Not bad at all though. In fact, if you actually listen to Seitz, you may find yourself enjoying this class.
