He sucks. He talks to fast. Writes like crap and hates people to ask questions. He seriously gets pissed if you raise your hand to ask a question while he is going over the lab. We had Clauson a couple of times when Elliot was out and Clauson is ten times better. Take him if you can

If you can get another teacher I would do that, but if you're like me and he was the only teacher available he's not horrible. I would take my own notes and do the questions at the end so I actually understood everything because he goes REALLY fast. Make sure you go to every lab and look at the pictures in the back before tests and the case studies in the lab manual.

This man is so awesome. He kept me entertained the whole semester. He is real passionate about literature and he has a way of getting you to appreciate it too. He is very helpful and always finds the time to talk to you if you need him. There are two papers and three tests. The tests are pretty easy and most of the time there are parts of the test you take home to work on, not the multiple choice parts of course. Sorry guys. The papers however are very challenging if you haven't done his type of papers before but he dicusses many ways to write them in class. I recommend everyone to take Mr. E for intro to lit. You will love him.

This course is difficult but Elliot makes it fun. He's kind of goofy, but it makes the class interesting. There are not many notes to take because everything you need to know is in the lab manual, but it is good to highlight things he covers in class and make some side notes. Just make sure you show up and study the exam reviews that you can get online...they really help! Elliot does not make his own exams, every lab has the same ones...but he tries his best to teach you what you need to know.

DO NOT TAKE ELLIOT!! He is a terrible teacher. He knows a lot of stuff b/c he has been doing microbiology for so long but he automatically thinks you should know it too. It is extremely hard to keep up in this class. He talks way too fast and when he writes on the board you can't read his handwritting and a lot of times he will abbreviate it and you don't have a clue what it is. You have to read the whole weeks work in your lab manual before class or you will be totally lost! I pretty much had to teach myself. Everyone was afraid to ask any questions because he thinks you should know all of the answers and he makes you feel stupid for asking. Do not take him if you don't have to!

Mr. Elliott is a great teacher and is willing to help a student out at any time. We had to write four paper outside of class and four in-class writings. The final is just a portfolio. If you have the chance take him, he is awesome.

The class is ridiculous. I've never seen a class run like this. And it isn't specifically Mr. Elliot. You have 3 tests the entire semester and they cover huge amounts of information. You only have 4 grades which include attendence, and the 3 tests. It is a very difficult class and I think Mr. Clauson doesn't understand that he has been doing this for years and yes, we may by Science majors, but he is a little out of control. Hate to say it, but he needs a reality check. And don't bother asking questions, because chances are good you won't get the answer you were looking for and probably will be made to feel stupid.

I know this guy has a lot of bad reviews. I personally really liked him. He is tough and he expects you to read the material before class and know it, but its just because he wants you to do good. Also, its kind of hard to teach microbiolgy, because all it really is, is stuff you have to memorize. Not something you can really teach. I think that no matter what teacher you take, this class is just going to take a lot of effort. Elliot will like you if you ask questions after class and act like you care. There are 3 tests. Basically just memorize by heart your lab manual. I did that and got high A's on all the test. THe last test has a practical section as well.

This course is very difficult. Dr. Elliott does not teach; he just expects you to read the manual and understand on your own. Anything I learned in this class, I taught myself. Good luck!

Oh, where to begin! This guy treats his class like children, not adults. For example, asking the class very minute questions and scolding us for not reviewing the material before class, during class, after class, etc., acting as if no one had any other classes besides this one, let alone jobs. Essentially calling us stupid. The guy has the worst sense of humor and laughs at his own jokes. My lab partner and I were almost afraid to ask questions about anything. If you did he would wonder why you didn't listen closer to his description of how to do 5 seperate lab assignments before starting any. He goes very fast, you can't read his writing, and keeps you for the entire 2 hours of the class, the chairs aren't the most comfortable either. Take Clauson for the love of Pete!

This man can only be compared to professor Dumbledore. He is so random and so confused I don't see how he got his doctorate. At times he is really nice and willing to help you out, then he would change into this smart a$$ and make fun of you for not knowing what "Micrococcus luteous" is. Try and take someone else or you will regret it.
