It wasn't hard, but it wasn't the easiest class either. You have to actually read what he tells you and take advantage of the Writing Center. There are only 4 main assignments and some are easier than others. I would recommend taking him for English 100. He made me a better writer.

He will try to scare you the first day... if you are not willing to work then please just leave the class. He will tear you apart.
The class isn't too hard. You'll do peer reviews of the papers which is pretty helpful. The most annoying thing about the class is the research project.

I took English 200 as a summer course. Professor Beagle was one of the best professors i have had in my college experience. He is very straight forward on what will be on the test. No tricks. I really enjoyed his class.

TAKE HIM!! Mr. Beagle is an amazing teacher. He really helps you learn the material. I took him during the summer, so we didn't have a paper, although I heard that during the regular semesters you do have a paper. We had 3 tests, which included an essay, matching, and fill in the blank. You go over everything in class so much that his tests are really easy. You have pop quizzes every other day or so, but they are generally easy. A majority of your grade is also based on participation. That's the easiest way to get a good grade. Mr. Beagle is my favorite teacher at Western, and I definitely will be taking him for English 300!

Mr. B is awesome. He seems scary the first day of class, but he really is a great teacher. He makes you want to be in class, but if you are shy, dont take this. He will call on you and ask for your opinion. The good thing about this class is that if you make a low quiz grade, you can earn back your points by participation, and his tests are a joke..so easy. He is pretty fun, likes to pick on people, and is defanetly a smart ass. If you want an easy A... take him!!!!

i absolutely LOVED Gary Beagle!
First few weeks, you will HATE him..hang in there! He assigns readings every night the first few weeks and you WILL have short quizzes over them..BUT..if you participate in class discussions (which is not hard at all, he usually asks "so what did you think about this piece?" and thats about it) he makes it worth more of your grade than quizzes..so dont stress about the quizzes at all. after a few weeks, he assigns readings still, but you just have class discussions over them, he stops giving quizzes. at this time he starts getting a lot more lenient and makes jokes in class all the time. he even told us at the end of the semester that he thinks its funny that hes mean at the beginning of the semester because he just tries to get slackers to drop his class. he also grades fairly too, i never got below a b+ on a paper..there are no tests. i will definitly be taking him for eng 200 and 300! participate in class, write decent papers and its an easy A.

Professor Beagle is a amazing teacher. He is very very nice unless you dont do the work. This lit class does require you to read alot. but the plays and stories are all very good. Im bad at english but i loved this class. you have a quiz just about every other day over the stories you were supposed to read for homework. but the quizzes are sooooo easy there pretty much a easy grade. trust me take him

Mr. Beagle is very moody. It takes the littlest things to set him off. If a couple people do not read like he asked, he yells at everyone for it. If you read, you should do fine, if you can put up with the tantrums. There are several pop quizzes throughout the semester and a test on each unit: poetry, drama, and fiction.

Great professor. Takes the time to make sure everyone understands materials being convered. Also, gets you to look at the broader ideas rather than specific details. Tests are very simple because you cover everything in class.

This class was not like anything I had expected. We only wrote 2 or 3 papers, but they all built up to our final paper; which only had to be 5-7 pages. Pretty much the whole class deals with writing argumentative papers and the quality of them. I enjoyed the class because it was not really hard and he did not waste out time teaching us things we did not need to know. However, pretty much every class was a review of the day's before class. He repeated himself a lot, and usually, he repeated himself word for word. He is available to meet with you if you need to meet with him. But he is not willing to read your papers to help you revise them because he says he makes it how he wants it and not like your own writing. You can only miss up to 5 days in his class if you take it MWF. Overall, Mr. Beagle does seem to care about his students and actually does take time to know your name. He requires readings frequently, and occasional quizzes, but really..it is not that bad.

This course has no final but does require a final paper. The entire course is not writting in the disciplines but only focuses on argumentative writting. There is nothing interesting in this class, any other enlish 300 teacher will certainly be more interesting and thorough. Lame quizes. Do not take Gary Beagle.

He is a nice guy. No tests just pop quizzes over some readings. There are several out of class papers which he grades a little difficult on. There are two in class essays which are graded difficultly. Your final is an out of class essay due during finals week over a book he makes you buy and read. Several of my friends had different english proffessors and they said its much more difficult than this class. Makes you interact in class, and has the class going sometimes. I recommend him if you are a strong writer because your only grades are from attendance and those papers thats why i got a B. Good luck if you take him.

Mr. Beagle is an AWESOME teacher. He offers 2 extra credit oppertunities. He doesn't give any tests at all. Your final is a paper. he does give quizes everyonce in a while over the reading you have for homework but not often. At first he acts like the class is going to be hard but its not just stick through the first couple of weeks and you will see. You have to partisipate in class or he will fail you. Just talk alot and volunteer first when he asks questions! your going to LOVE him!

He is sucha great porfessor. He will work with you to get the grade you deserve. All you have to do in this class is read your assigned readings and study for the test. We did not even have a final! He has quizes a lot but they are small and do not count for much. He is really nice and the disscussions you have in class are hilariouse and interesting. He gives you five absences and after that you drop a letter grade. He is a great teacher and you will really enjoy his class

Mr. Beagle is a great teacher. He has you read stories and you discuss them in class the next time. Every now and then he will have a quiz. He really likes for you to participate in class and give your opinion. Sometimes, he will call on you. You have to write a few 2-3 page papers throughout the semester and the final is a research paper that is 5-7 pages. This class is easy, I enjoyed it.

He's a pretty nice teacher but make sure you go to every class. He gives a lot of quizzes over the reading material and you never know when you'll have a quiz. The tests are easier than the quizzes and he tells you everything that will be on there.

Professor Beagle is great. He's willing to help students in any way he can. But you have to go to class. If you don't go, he's not very helpful. He helps those who put forth some effort. Overall, he's a good teacher and you just have to write a few 2 page papers and a 5-7 page research paper for the final grade.

Mr. Beagle is a great instructor. His class is an easy "B" but you have too work for an "A" His final consists of writing a pretty long paper over a novel but is still pretty easy. He is more than willing to help in and out of class. I got an "A" in his class and it was the only "A" i got this semester. I would def. take him again.

Wow, was I fortunate to get in this class! There are no real unpleasant suprises in Mr. Beagle's class. That is, unless you count the NUMEROUS quizes. Still, he is always very clear about the reading assignments they will be over, and if you've read them, the quizes will be no problem. Also, for the two tests, he throughly reviewed--EVERYTHING that was actually on the test. The final was an analysis of a short story (pretty easy).

With Mr. Beagle, you have to read the assignments because he's always giving quizzes and you have to participate in class, but he tells you everything that's going to be on the tests so if you study a little and read the stuff it is so easy.
