He is hilarious....he's younger so he can relate to the students well. You dont have to go to class but i'd recommend it because a majority of the exam is over notes....with a few exceptions of stuff or vocab from the book. OVERALL---he's freakin awesome....if you want a class to get an EASY A in ....take him

This class overwhelmed me. The information was hard but could have been understood so much easier if taught by a better teacher. He is really knowledgable of the content but was NOT a good teacher. The test are 5 essay question and you must answer 4.

Okay....so It started out a little rough...BUT it got A LOT better. Granted that the first exam the average was a 58%....he got a lot easier. He started to realize why people were really there....and that's to get a good grade for a EASY gen-ed class. He's a good, funny guy. I'd take him again.:)

If you take this course with Dr. Lyons, be sure to read the text. When you know what's going on, you know how to better manage the never-ending notes. He's not expecting any more than any other good professor does. The tests are difficult, but only because he expects you to learn, which is why we're in college, right?

Dr. Lyons is a really nice guy. As a teacher, his lectures tend to wander a bit. He seems slightly un-organized with his lectures, so taking notes is difficult at times. But, he is incredibly understanding. He never denied me help when I asked for it. He was always very willing to answer the questions I had regarding the two tests and the fitness program. Had this been ANY other teacher, I am almost positive I would have failed. I would definitely recommend him. Be warned: he won't spoon-feed you like you are still in high school. And, the tests are harder than he makes them out to be.

Obviously, I was going into PE 100 with the mindset that it would be a cake class. Boy, was I ever wrong.
The first two months were easy enough...until we had our first exam. I don't want you to get the idea that I'm an idiot, but this was the hardest multiple choice test I've ever taken (including the ACT). It would have been great if we'd have known what to study. Of the 50 questions on the exam, maybe five of them might have actually come from our notes.
I'm not saying I busted my ass in this class (I didn't). What I am saying is that you shouldn't have to bust your ass in this class. It seems as if some PE teachers try to make their classes extra hard because most people don't regard them as legitimate professors.
All this said, Lyons seems like a pretty nice guy. Still, unless you're a PE major or a kiss-ass, stay away.
