Well, Dr. Pickle is a nice lady. But she has no sympathy. I missed making a C by 1 point. Literally, 1 overall point gave me a D. What's even worse then that is she gave us a pop-quiz on the last day of class over material we were supposed to have read on our own. I did most of the readings, but I didn't have time to do this one because the last week of classes are the most stressful.

Most professors will give you that extra point, but not her. She isn't a bad person, but if you take her class then expect NO sympathy.

This class was VERY difficult. I only suggest taking the class if you know German fluently. She's not very helpful, and she doesn't clarify things very well. but as long as you show up for class, do your work, and can speak German very well, you should be able to make a good grade. People do say that she hardly ever gives out As though.

Prof. Pickle is avery nice lady. She is always ready to explain things not understood by students. Her Exams are easy if you study for them. Basically you have to know everything that is covered in class. On her Exams she gives several fill in the blank, short answer and Essays. Each exam is worth 50 pts of the total grade. Other then the Exams you usually have Blackboard questions for every class that meets and you also have a power point that is mandatory. You have to attend, the only excused absences that are accepted are doctors notes. Other then that, if you enjoy discussion and if you are a person that likes to work for ones goal, go for it! You will enjoy it!

Professor Pickle is a seasoned scholar who knows her subject and knows it well. Even though she is such a well-trained academic, she will never make a student feel that what he or she has to say is invalid and/or stupid. She expects a lot from her students and sincerely wants them to perform well. Her open-door policy makes her a very approachable instructor and she makes time for her students even though her duties as department head can sometimes make her time scarce. Look into taking her classes at Western. You'll have an excellent teacher with a sincere interest and diversified expertise in her subject!

She thinks thats the only class we have. Do not take her. She is boring and expects you to do everything and know everything before you come to class. There is WAY TOO much homework. she is the worst teacher I ever had.

It seems to me that Dr.Pickle only likes native german speakers. Most come from Bosnia, some from Turkey. She lets it be known who her favorites are in the class. Only a few of us 'americans' did ok. I should've withdrew from the class at the beginning. She is an ok person, but NOT a good teacher. This was a german class, but has nothing to do with the language. If you don't spaek perfect german, don't bother. I've taken german since I started at the college, and had no clue what was going on. I recieved all 'A's in other classes, but I guess I was too conservative for this socialist teacher. Most topics covered had nothing to do with german culture, mainly culture of muslims in germany. Crappy class. DO NOT TAKE!!
