This is an easy class. Once you get the hang of what all needs to be done then its a guranteed A. Unfortunatley I got a B because I was not aware of all the assignments due the first tow weeks and Revels wouldn't tell me, instead he would use the email and time that he could have used to tell me to reference me to his videos. Overall it's an easy A, and once I knew what needed to be done. I actually worked ahead of the class. Also you never have to go to class until the end of the semester.

I have never wrote about anyone on this before, but Mark Revels class has inspired me to do so. This was an online class so I actually never interacted with him other than email. I had an A in his class before the exam then 3 days later on Topnet I had an F. Basically he did not remember to add in half my grade. After days and many many emails back in forth he gave me a C for a final grade because he thought I did not do all the quizzes (which I did!) There is no room for negotiation or leeway with this man! And by the way you do not take any other test except for the final. It is cumulative and there is 150 questions. The average score is 85/150!

In my opinion it doesnt really matter who you have for this class because it is all about whether or not you do the work. If you do the work it easy if not, it is hard. It's that simple. But Mr. Revels is a good teacher and willing to help if you have any questions.

There are no tests or quizzes. Your grade is determined by weekly discussions, responses to others questions, weekly 750 word memos, and a midterm and final presentation. The DQs, responses and memos are easy to do well on if you simply do it. The presentations are the presentation of an IT strategic plan and require a lot of effort.

If you have to take this course, I HIGHLY suggest that you take Prof Revels. He is EXCELLENT. He gladly answers any questions you have (no matter how dumb you think they might be), and he also makes himself available outside class time if you need him. He also sent encouraging emails out to the class mid-term and at the end, which was thoughtful. The only time you have to attend the class is when you take the in-class exams (which there are about 8 I think), otherwise you do the practice exams and lessons on your own. Easy A as long as you keep up with the exams and practice tests!!*

Professor Revels was willing to help you if you needed help. The class is pretty much a self-taught class. I wouldn't recommend buying the book because it was not helpful and it can't be returned if opened. You have 5 home tests and 5 lab tests. These tests are hands on and you have to apply your knowledge to them. You take the tests on the computer using a simulated program. You are not required to go to class EXCEPT on lab test days. The key to success in this class is just retaking the practice tests - they are exactly like the home tests and the lab tests. The only difference is that you can retake these practice tests as many times as you would like to and they don't count against you. The class was not hard at all. Just be prepared to spend some time on the weekend working on the practice tests. If you do need help though, Professor Revels is there to help you during class times.

This class was an internet based course. I can understand that there needs to be discipline in internet classes, but his assignments were awful. Here is a given week: On Wednesday, you are to complete anywhere from 4 to 8 discussion questions in a forum. Then, on Friday, you have to submit a 750 word memo on one of the chapter subjects. By the end of sunday, you have to submit a 50 word summary on what you learned that week plus have plenty of responses to the DQ's for participation. This is EVERY week. I don't learn anything except how to manage my time for his busy work. And don't forgt the midterm and final. They are a group project. That's right, a group project for an internet class. These are a 6000 word report that must be presented to him. I just finished the mid-term, and this was the first time I have had a presentation interrupted and ridiculed before we asked for questions and comments. What have I learned from his class? Nothing. You can get absolutely no benfit from his class unless you like being stressed out about weekly assignments.

Mr. Revels is a HORRIBLE teacher. He never talks to the class or does anything a good teacher would do. The only way to get an A or B is if you do two APA's (which are long and boring and have nothing to do with what you learn in class) you have to do all this work, print them, put them in a specific binder, and turn them in. Plus you have to e-mail them to him and if they aren't perfect and sent in the correct format, you get a zero. He completely screwed me out of getting a good grade and wouldn't even help me out!! He is a jackass. Do not take his class unless you want to be miserable!

This course was taught for the full term last time but is now taught in the bi-term. Still, there is the chance to finish early. Mr. Revels is a nice guy, but I never really got to know him because of the course structure. He seemed helpful to students with problems. There are easy computer exams and two final projects on Access and Excel with more difficulty. I was pleased to get an A on them without going overboard. I did not even buy the book and made it okay. A good class to take no matter the skill level.
