I've taken several courses with Dr. Darbi and have had wonderful experiences with all of them! Don't expect her to take things easy on you, but she pushes you to your capability and I love that about her. Can't say enough good things!!

This is the very first course you take when you are in the Family and Consumer Sciences program, however I've never been able to get into it so I took it as a Junior. She was pretty cool at the beginning but quickly showed that she shows favoritism and discriminates against people. The first day of class she called me and two other girls out because we are in a sorority and said "Well I guess we know who will be skipping class first". She made one of those same girls cry during class because the girl said she preferred to take a class in Glasgow because it would be easier, Dr. Darbi then yelled at her and said if she was her daughter she would be ashamed. Being a junior, I have written multiple A+ papers and am very good at them. We just turned in a rather easy paper over a topic of our choice and I received a 46 on it. Never in my life have I gotten that low of a grade on anything and none of her comments made sense. I feel like she was being very discriminatory against me because of who I am and was very rude in her comments on the paper. If you love to suck up to teachers, she's your gal but that's the only way you will receive a fair grade. I do not recommend her at all and don't even think she should be a professor at WKU.

Dr. Darbi was awesome. This was my first online class and she made it so understandable. A few of the assignments were challenging, but nothing worse than would be expected from senior year courses. I LOVED this class and got an A. The extra credit was fun to do, too! I highly recommend Dr. Darbi to anyone!!!

This instructor was excessively demanding in the assignments given. The written assignments was graded very hard. I took this class online. I have taken numerous online courses and this was about the hardest I have ever taken. I do not recommend her to anyone.

This was a cool class. It was offered online and she had some things she was working out (one big assignment that was new) but was really flexible and helped all the students succeed. A LOT of emails, but it was to help us out. I have had Dr. Darbi for about 3 classes now and have always learned a lot and liked the classes. Quizzes were a little tricky, but if you read the book you were ok. Overall, great class with a great prof.

She is the most helpful person I've met at WKU and I've met A LOT of people. I recommend her for any of her classes. she helps you however she can and will stay after class to talk with you. she is the best advisor i've ever had and she is a fantastic teacher.

I have taken Dr. Darbi before, and the person who gave her a frowny face is being mean. I've had Dr. Darbi for three classes, and she is very fair. I didn't get an 'a' in all her classes, and worked hard. she helps students through assignments and works with us before they are due, to make sure we do ok in the class and learn. and she tells you everything you need to know to make a good grade, and helps you with all the stuff for classes.

This was a bad year for Dr.Darbi and I feel extremely bad for her, however I think she was trying to be overly hard in her grading. I also do not like the fact that you work hard on projects in her class, that you can use in the future, but she will not let you keep them. I am sure she has enough of examples to show future classes by now. I think some professors have their picks on students that they want to do well in their class, and she is one of them. If you do a project in her class don't spend a lot of money on it, because it is her property NOT YOURS! Overall I guess she is a good teacher, because others seem to love her, and don't get me wrong I do to, but I j/ did not enjoy her class this year.

Dr. Darbi is one of the nicest people I've ever met period, let alone among professors. She is an extremely lenient grader, but that doesn't mean you don't have to try, she grades mostly based on effort. We didn't have tests, we had a "quest" on blackboard that we could use our notes and book on. This was honestly the only time that I used my book the entire semester so I would suggest going together with a friend to buy a book. We had one 8-10 page research paper on a chosen topic, and one project which were most of our grade. They required some effort, but we had all semester to work on them, and it was very easy to make a really high A or even 100%. There are no other assignments, no busy work. There is no final, attendance is not mandatory, but for each day we came it was worth two points. I would definitely recommend this class and especially Dr. Darbi, the class is an easy gpa builder!

Dr. Darbi is an absolutely wonderful teacher!! She makes every single class interesting and fun to attend. There is lots of class discussion and interaction between class members. She doesn't believe in test, instead we took two "Quests", which consisted of two take home test that you are allowed to use your textbook on. There is absolutely no reason to not make 100 on the quests and there are even bonus points. At the beginning of the semester we chose a topic for a presentation to the class and a topic of a 10-15 page research paper. These counted as your final exam and since you had all semester to work on them there was no reason to not earn the maximum amount of points on these projects. If you attend class, participate and do your class work you can't help but earn an "A". I highly recommend her class, it was very informative.

Dr. Darbi is an awesome teacher. You leave each class with new knowledge. Each of her tests were take home and multiple choice. There were 2 projects, but with some effort they were easy. You received 2 points each day you were there. She is interesting and one of the most knowledgable teachers I have had at WKU. Please take this class if you can!!

Wow! this class is so much fun. this class can be hard, but you will get through it. You have to do three observations. The total amount of time is 15 hours. You have to do 5 hours with infants, 5 hours with toddlers, and 5 hours with a preschooler. when you get done with that you have to write about it. it will seem like alot of work but it is not. Just get them done early and don't wait till the last min and you will be good. Then you have to write a development paper she will make it sound like it is hard to do but it really is not hard at all. You have 4 test. they are all multiple choice. there is 30 questions on each test. the test can be somewhat hard, but if you study then you will do great. she tells you everything that you need to know. The last test is a take home test and you can use your book and your notes. The good thing about this class is there is no final. this class is great and a whole lot of fun. Mrs. Hanyes-Lawrence is the best teacher and she will help you in anyway she can.
