Dr. Webb does not stay on her course schedule at all! She puts everything off till the end and then crams it all in so you have 2-3 tests the 2 weeks before finals. You have no idea what your grade is in the class since she has such a retarded way of grading. I have never received below a 95% in Chem classes, I even got a 97 with Pesterfield! But when I asked her why I received a B, she sent me back very incorrect grades of mine. I'm pretty sure she just made them up since she is so unorganized and she has very poor hygiene too!

Even I got A in her section, I DO NOT recommend you to take her lecture. She is so arrogant and old school. And it is hard to ask her questions. She is always very busy and the office hr to her is bullsh*t. She ask us to study on our own, and surely I did. So I got good grades on my tests. Why do we need her at all if we can learn by ourself? Her idea doesn't make sense to me. If you want to get good chemistry, STAY AWAY FROM THIS LADY!

Dr. Webb is a horrible instructor. How in the world was she selected to be the Head of the Chemistry Department? I know this sounds so mean, but if any of you are reading this evaluation, and have had her in class, you probably know almost exactly what I mean. When it comes to giving back material from her, she will have three options:1. You will never get the exam/homework/quiz back. 2. You will get the exam/homework/quiz back at a date and time that is months later (I AM NOT EXAGGERATING) which will be graded by Dr. Webb. 3. You will get the exam/homework/quiz back weeks later which will be graded incorrectly because it was graded by Dr. Webb's lab instructor. The reason why the material is graded incorrectly is due to the lack of communication between Dr. Webb and the lab instructor.
Just for your sake, try to take someone else if you can. But if you were in my boat, and had no one else to take, then get ready to have a horrible instructor for the class. Don't get me wrong, the worst overall grade for the class you will receive will be a B. I would have loved to have received an A, but 95 percent of the people I knew received a B in her class, and the thing is she gave that grade on TOPnet without any consideration on how much work or how much class you went to. But you will see what I mean that when you check your grade at the end of the semester, you will more than likely have a B in that Chemistry spot.

Dr. Webb is a good teacher, she explains the material well and grades fairly. She is a bit scatterbrained at times and is a bit unorganized. If you work in the class and study before each test, you will have no problems getting an A, as long as you score well on the ACS exam at the end.

I took Pchem as a summer course at western. This class did not meet one time. We completed the entire course by doing a packet of work she put together. I never recieved any grades back. The only grade I ever saw was my final grade. There was no final exam. Whatever I learned, I did by myself with the book, or from friends that had already taken the class. If you are serious about learning pchem I would not take this class from her.

Dr. Webb is not a good professor at all. She rambles, gets lost, and has to ask students where she was. Plus, she won't grade anything. We never received a single test back. We were clueless about our grade til it was posted at the end of the semester. I really don't know where the grades came from because I know I didn't deserve an A!! Worked out good for me, but other people got lower than they should have.

Dr. Webb is a great teacher! She really breaks the material down and makes it a lot easier!! She actually cares about her students and how well they do! Many teachers will not go to the lengths that she does to try and let students do well in her class. She has short test every week and if you do not do well on the test you get a chance to retake it two more times. Her quizzes are actually harder than her test. She is the best Chemistry teacher I have ever had. I learned a lot from her!

I found Kate Webb to be the worst professor I've had. A lot of the classes were totally disorganized and she made no effort to expain things clearly. Many of the exams were never returned so I didn't get any feedback on how well I understood the material. Some people think that Dr Webb is on a huge ego trip being Head of the Chemistry Department and she doesn't give a **** about anyone else. After experiencing that disaster of a class I agree totally

I am not quite sure how i ended with a B. The course was actually offered by another professor that had to leave the course 1/2 way due to maternal leave. I had A's on everything until Webb took over. The last exam before the final (the one that Webb taught the material for and administered) was never returned to me so i still don't know what i made.
Anyway, I'll cut to the chase. Webb can't lecture to save her life. Her exams don't quite match with the classroom material. And something "fishy" went on with my grade. I wouldn't reccommend her.

Webb was only present for one half of the meetings for this class. Grades were assigned at a whim. She has no clue about how to teach this course, and if at all possilbe avoid her as a teacher as I learned nothing in this course. Better time could be spent learning P-Chem in an underwater basket weaving class.

Webb is a joke as a teacher. She is unable to present a coherent lecture. Exams do not reflect the small amount of information she attempts to present in class, and I have no idea how I did on the exams because they were never returned. Final grades seem to be assigned at a whim.

This class was awful, I learned nothing and received a grade that was apparently arbitrarily assigned. Dr. Webb rarely showed up for class, and when she did she was late. Lectures were not prepared well, and seemed to be thrown together. Out of 3 exams taken, I only saw one of them returned to me, and never knew my grade on the other two. She apparently never graded them, I know this because somebody that cheated often, and was so clueless they were forced to write Nirvana lyrics on an exam received an A. Yes, that's fair grading to Kate Webb. She has done a great disservice to all the chemistry majors in her class. Those that have went on to graduate school are struggling in any classes requiring a knowledge of pchem. PLEASE, don't take a class with her.

Dr. Webb is hands down one of the WORST professors I've ever had during my career at Western. She can't put together a coherent lecture to save her life, and she sure can't teach physical chemistry. She also can't apparently grade exams or homework, since we had assignments that were never returned to us, and exams that were graded months (yes, MONTHS) after they were given. She also canceled class all the time, and then rushes through material like a mad woman. Sometimes she would pause for 10 minutes during lecture to figure out what the heck she was doing.

Dr. Webb is a great teacher. Her style is easy to understand and her grading is very fair. She truly wants everyone in her class to do well and she strives to make that happen. I would totally recommend her to EVERYONE for any chemistry class. Chemistry 222, on the other hand, isn't very easy. There is lots of material that has to be covered in such a short period of time. I thought it was lots harder than 120, so be prepared.

I really like Dr. Webb. She's really cool. This class is pretty light on the chemistry stuff--I learned it all and more in my high school chem. class, and she explains it really well. The environmental aspect of the class makes it really interesting. This is one of her fields so she gets all excited about it. We did a few case studies which were pretty interesting. The tests were not too hard. I highly recommend this class.
