This teacher is very easy. BUT--I would not recommend taking her. I hated sitting through her classes, her tests werent that bad, but she has an attendance policy. What made me mad was that she didnt take role everyday but if you miss so many days she will fail you. Well...I got an A in the class, but she said i missed too many days and she gave me a D. She did not change the grade until I argued with her about it for about a week straight. Then she decided to compromise with me. She is rediculous.

nancy roberts has no business teaching a class. she has got to be the most bi-polar scatterbrained teacher i've ever had. the only advice i can give is just to participate in class, give her some kinda of BS explaination of your take on a story and she will love you, but she will hate you and not give you specail consideration if you miss class all the time or dont participate. SHE PLAYS FAVORITES! so if you can get on her good side do it, or she will basically bully you the whole semester.

Dr. Roberts is a good teacher -she's very scatter brained but she has a real passion for literture. there is no final exam - instead you get in groups and write a four page paper that incorportates differecnt stories and poems from throughout the year.

This is a very good class. You don't have any test, and very few notes, if any. As long as you come to class you get above a C. You do a lot of writing, but it is not really graded. The objective is to go outside what you are use to. Very Good teacher!!! She makes this class fun and very interesting!

I found Dr. Roberts hard to talk to. Sometimes she can be really nice, but other times she will bite your head off. I don't feel like I learned a lot in this class. The only thing I got out of this class was a credit. She should stick to writing, not teaching.

Ms. Roberts is an excellent Creative Writing teacher. I have heard of some people thinking that she is mean but what they don't understand is a term called "constructive criticism." This class was very fun and Ms. Roberts is extremely helpful and will tell you what you need to do differently to make your pieces better. She is very enthusiastic about reading her students' papers and you can tell that she loves teaching the class. I recommend this course for anyone who will take it seriously and enjoys writing.

Some explanation: there are no tests. Extra credit is offered, but sometimes difficult to make it to the assigned program. I rated this class as difficult because I did find it so. Not difficult because it was challenging, but difficult in that you have to cater to her needs. Personal expression is not really a big part of the class. If you did not write about subjects the prof found interesting then you did not receive a high grade. Also, this professor is one of those scatterbrained types that is a bit hard to really respect. She knows what she's doing, but she can't remember half the time what she wants to do or how to get there.

Mrs. Roberts shouldn't be teaching another class at Western. I withdrew out of her class when she pretty much told me that I was stupid. I don't undertstand that I can make a A in English 100 where the whole class was based on writting papers. Mrs. Roberts told me that I needed to go to a help center. I wouldn't let my dog take her class.

Dr. Nancy Roberts professed ambiguous guidelines for writing in our 305 class so she did not have to be held accountable, at a later time, for things she said in class.
Roberts used no objective grading system for our 305 class, but dispensed grades based on subjective reasoning.
Roberts would allow other students' opinions to gender her own opinion in regards to stories that met the standards she gave in her class syllabus.
Roberts gave no final exam in our 305 class. A final would have allowed those who did not pass her subjective appraisal to convince her that they could parrot back the writing guidelines she espoused.
Roberts had no tolerance for genres of writing that fell outside the mainstream. She allowed her dislike of genre fiction to shine through even if the works had merit.
Roberts often came to class medicated, which had the effect of making some of her lectures incomprehensible.

Dr. Roberts is a wonderful professor. She really sees writing clearly, and she is very encouraging. She is a warm and a wonderful person. Naturally, in a workshop setting, a lot of the class depends on classmates. However, she is a wonderful professor to be leading the workshop. I highly recommend her; she's one of my favorites ever.

Dr. Roberts is a bit spacey but the class was good. Class chemistry determines how enjoyable the class is as there are small group and full group discussions of student pieces.

An intensive workshop course. The atmosphere was harsh at times, but that was due mainly to the other students, and not Dr. Roberts. A good course to build on 203.
