I’m not sure if Dr. Budziak is young, dumb, naïve, just over eager or maybe all four. The amount of work assigned for an online summer course is completely overkill. I understand that is a graduate level course but to date this is the heaviest workload I have had in any of my graduate level classes. Most graduate students do not have the luxury of spending uninterrupted time working only on one class as most have full time jobs, some have families with children, and are taking multiple classes simultaneously. It is obvious that he is very knowledgeable of the course material but he would do well to recognize that while administrative law might be his life’s passion it is not for everyone and most people have a life outside of the classroom/class work. The work is not difficult there is just way too much of it. Maybe if the reading wasn't so boring it wouldn't be so bad to read 40 to 80 pages a week. The discussion board requirements are probably the most ridiculous of any class I have had in both my graduate and undergraduate. Discussion board posts of any kind are ridiculous. I don’t care about the readings so why in the world would I care what you or anyone else thinks about it. There are always three plus paragraphs of introduction for the posts? Seriously dude get to the point. Can't wait for this class to be over so I can brain dump all of this material!

He's a great teacher. The class is very enjoyable and the discussions and lecture are always interesting! If you pay attention and read at times you will pass. Definitely taking him again!

Fantastic professor; not for the faint of heart. Readings are challenging, but not impossible. First assignment is scary because you have no experience. He wants participation, and he's good at getting it; he just won't force it out of you. If you sit there silently, thinking your assignments will just get better without speaking up you're probably wrong. Ask questions, email him, and get involved; you'll get the A, and you'll know you belong in college.

I agree this is a difficult course, but I think Dr. Budziak does a pretty good job of explaining the readings. There is a lot of work, the case briefs he assigns take a lot of time and the midterm exam was long. But he seems to really try to get students to understand the material.

One of the worst classes EVER! He is an awful professor, assigns 4 briefs for every class they are very time consuming, and he only grades 1 and all you get is 10 points for it. There is so much busy work, he doesn't even grade! Lecture is as boring as can be, he doesn't even lecture a student lectures over the case and he just throws in a few points. If you can take the class with anyone else DO! Its not a very hard class but he makes it very time consuming and much harder than it should be!
