If this class is mandatory, first try to get in a 2-3 day a week class. The material covered in a night class is almost laughable.
Ok, evaluation of Professor Counts. He reads from power point slides and instead of using the whiteboard to explain calculations he will just read off the equations and examples. Our second exam class average was a 50% (there was a 24% curve).
My best tip for this class is to master the hw problems, slide terms, and book examples.

Mr. Counts is a CPA,CFP,CFA,MBA in Bowling Green and knows tax law, which is all this course is. You will have homework that he will collect and grade. Make sure it is right. The tests are hard and you must know the tax laws and exactly how to apply them. Know them forward and backward. He is a good professor and this is a night class, you should only be in class 1.5 hours per night. Most of the stuff he covers is material that you must memorize and know how to apply. Study hard, the tests are difficult, but you might actually learn something.

I would have done better in this class if I would have studied more and gone to class more. I took it as a night class and we only stayed the whole time once. Prof. Counts likes what he teaches and understands that you don't want to spend all night in his class. He is helpful if you have questions. He tells you the information that will be covered on the tests.
