Dr. Downing is a down to earth man. He made me feel comfortable in his class which helped when giving speeches. We had a few quizzes and two tests (including the final). I think he is a great teacher but it is obvious he shows favorites.

Very interesting material with a terrific professor. Joe is very cooperative and sensitive to students needs. There are occasional quizzes over reading, but they only help you stay on track with your reading. I've never had a bad class with Joe Downing in the Communication Department.

Dr. Downing is an excellent instructor. He does everything he can to help his students. Very approachable and friendly. If you have to take a speech class, I recommend taking Dr. Downing.

Dr. Downing (Joe) is very concerned about his students and an excellent professor. You need to take this class if you're a freshman even remotely interested in communucation.
