You use the book only a few times but Droege is one of the best professors and everyone is lucky enough to have him as a professor. Some say he is easy, but he teaches in an enjoyable manner, which minimizes the stresses. He teaches the right way and the items you learn are never forgotten.

Dr. Droge is a very funny guy and makes the class really fun. Its easy to get an A in the class if you go and pay attention. He makes all of the powerpoints available on his webiste and the reading is cut down to just a few pages in each chapter. Dont make the mistake of thinking you dont need to study for the tests becasue they can be tricky if you havent read over the material. He offers a lot of extra credit for the test for showing up on certian days and for doing the sheets over the apprentices we watched. Hes really hyper and drinks a lot of coffee and tells corney jokes but he is still the coolest professor I have taken at WKU. The questions on the final come from the prior test so there are no suprises.

This class is very fun and I liked the group projects.
If you get anything below a A in this class it is your own fault because he tells you exactly what you need to do to get an A.
The final project is the only thing that is really time consuming and that is when you level up a grade from a B to an A. There were many people in the class that didnt care to do it and I think he has a well designed course because he will probably meet the standard normal curve every semester. You have to write a 8 to 12 page paper on a product proposal and as long as you pick something that you are really knowledgable with you will be done with the proposal before you know it I think mine took me an hour or two and I was done.
The simulation is fun and if you only care about getting out of the class then thats all you but if you take the time to learn from Droege he really teaches you A LOT. The best lecture I have had in college was by Droege. He taught the class how to become a millionaire, and I looked his idea over and it is a sure fire way to become a millionaire. He knows a lot about investing and mutual funds stock market etc. Pick his brain you will learn lots.

This was one of the easiest classes EVER and you actually learn something you can use in life! Droege is a pretty easy guy to get along with. Go to class and do whatever he has in store for you and you will get an A. He does not grade any assignments that he does make, he only gives you credit for doing them. The class is set up on a pyramid method, when you complete one assignment it moves you from a C to a B, then another assignment from a B to an A.
He teaches the course like a seminar which is really good. Trust me, you will learn SOMETHING and you will have a good time while doing it. I don't know too many people that have come from the class disgusted. Just go to class and enjoy Droege.

"Scott," as he likes to be called, is very refreshing. He is full of energy, makes fun of himself, and is a lot of fun. This is the one class of the day that I can go to class and relax. It is easy to see that Droege enjoys his interactions with students. He is not one of these professors who bombs students with reading assignments. The readings he does assign are minimal and very specific. If you want good grades on your "quizzes," you NEED to do your reading, as the majority of the content comes from here. He will give you extra credit opportunities.
He uses the first season of the Apprentice to reinforce what he talks about in class. You will do a worksheet on the episode and if you put any type of effort into it at all, he gives you a 100. You will give what he calls an "elevator pitch," which is a small speech, only a minute or so in duration. Very easy. You also have to do a group project/presentation on an innovative idea, which was also not a bad assignment. He splits the class in half for these assignments, and so you only have to show up on the day that you're assigned to present--which means two days that you don’t have to come to class. Very rarely did we have to stay in class the entire time.
Don’t make the mistake of thinking you won’t have to study for your quiz. There are only 20-25 multiple choice questions on the quiz, so each one is worth quite a bit.
There are three "quizzes" and a final.

Hes an awesome teacher for those of you who want an easy A. We watch the apprentice like at least once evey two weeks and it takes up the whole class period. He lets you out early on a regular basis. Overall hes a great guy and I cant wait to take his 498 class. Take him if you get the chance....youre only screwing yourself overall by taking another professor.

This class was the best class I have ever took while I have been in college. You are able to learn alot about choose what type of grade you want from the beginning of the class. IT is your choice you pick the grade you want then do all the work that is assigned for that grade!!!! At first I thought the class was going to be hard but after the first few assignments I found it very easy and I also learned alot. He is a very good professor and I recommend him to everyone who has take this class!!!!!!!!

This class was a breeze. I have never had such an easy course at Western. Droege is very nice although drinks a little too much coffee, but you could tell he enjoyed teaching the class. He always throws out questions and we did not have any tests, only quizzes, so really there was no final. I would recommend him because I still enjoyed class without all the stress.

Scott Droege is definately the best professor I have ever had. I have had him for two classes so far and plan to take him for any other classes I have the opportunity to. He teaches in a manner that you should be taught in. He doesn't go by the book but ties in real life to the class through stories, articles, and video, not to mention he is hilarious and makes class very enjoyable. If you ever have a chance to take one of his classes take it, you learn more and have more fun doing it than you ever have before.

Dr. Droege is an awesome teacher who properly conveys the message of innovation using innovative tactics. There is a group presentation where you have to convince the rest of the class to invest in your innovative idea. This class is a fun, easy way to learn to think outside the box and to think innovatively.

Scott Droege is on crack!! He is so hyperactive and caffine addicted everyday! He rambles more than he teaches, but this is a fairly easy class as long as you put forth some effort and are there for the quizes and assignments.

Prior to taking this class, I dreaded it. I have heard mixed reviews about 498. Some people really like it; some hate it. I am one of those who enjoyed it...but I believe it was because of the professor. I highly recommend Dr. Droege. Even though he is a bit eccentric, he keeps you laughing and makes the class enjoyable. You actually feel like you're learning something and the simulation reinforces what you have learned in other business classes. Dr. Droege tells LOTS of stories and attempts to bring them back to what he is teaching (doesn't always work). Being a summer class, it was very fast-paced. We studied six chapters and had a test over each (each test was worth 10% of our final grade). These tests were MC and T/F. He gave us the essay ahead of time and we could prepare it at home and bring it to class to turn in with the test. The book is not neccessary, though helpful. He provides PowerPoint slides on Blackboard. There is no final (at least in the summer session). We had a business simulation where we ran a manufacturing company producing sensors. There are eight rounds and the team with the highest point total at the end receives a 100%. Each other team's points are divided by the winner's total points. He offers a couple of "safety nets" in case you don't do well on the simulation. It is important to meet together as a group and work on this simulation!!! It is important to spend time working with it to figure out your strategy from the beginning! The simulation is worth 15% of the final grade and there is a test over the simulation worth 10% of your grade. We also had to present an innovation project worth 15% of the final grade. We were allowed to do this in groups. The class grades this project by allocating "venture capital" to the teams they think presented the best innovations. Each team has $1 million to allocate. The team with the most capital wins and gets a 100%. Each other team's capital is divided by the winning team's capital amount to determine their grade. I enjoyed the class. I'm glad I took it during the summer because I think it would be a lot of work during the spring or fall semester. I would take Droege though because he is the easiest professor when it comes to MGT 498 (according to what I've heard about others that teach it). His tests are relatively easy and he's willing to throw out bad questions. In fact, our simulation exam was an oral, class effort. As long as one person gave the right answer within one minute, the whole class got credit for that question. Needless to say, we all got a 100% on the simulation exam!!!

Mr. Droege presents a clear understanding of the class. He is able to explain situations he is teaching in real life terms in which students can visualize applying in their lives. He mainly uses power point presentations which he makes available via Blackboard. He posts all grades in blackboard in nearly real time (same day in most circumstance.) Points are very easy to earn. Show up for class, participate in the few group assignments, and you can make a great grade with little effort.
He does not enforce frequent exams, but you are required to give a 6 minute presentation at the end of the semester and take a final. However, you begin working on the presentation the first few weeks of class. You are given far more than ample time to complete it and prepare for it.
Mr. Droege is very helpful in ensuring you understand the topics, and he uses humor to keep your attention. Looking for a good teacher? I recommend Mr. Scott Droege.
