It is very evident Dr. Lane does not prepare for class. The majority of the time she reads the power point slides to you as though she is seeing them for the first time. You take a minimal amount, if any, notes. She does not have an attendance policy; therefore, I decided to stop attending class & basically teach myself the material. I did better when not attending class. The exams do not reflect the material covered in class. Amount of material is ridiculous. Dr. Lane in no way tried to select the most important information and/or topics it was just here it is, learn it. She is obsessed with the corvette plant. Her class, in my opinion, was a social hour. I am sure when working in her field she was very adept. However, teaching is not her strong point.
In addition, be prepared for useless in class activities like making paper airplanes, counting m & m's, and endless You Tube videos. If I wanted to learn from You Tube I would have kept my tuition money and viewed them from home. My overall feeling was she was searching for instructional activities to fill up class time regardless if they actually taught us anything or not. Definitely could use a class in classroom instructional methods.

Ms. Lane has no clue how to address her problems. Their is no help, and when you go to get her help she pushes you away in some reguard. I would recommend anyone else but her. Excel is something we all should know and she doesn't teach it well at all. Oh and did I mention she is a complete Biotch. She shouldn't be teaching at western

For the love of (insert something you hold dear/holy) this professor is terrible. The class itself is quite easy. You have several quizzes, a few tests, and random homework assignments that require way too much work for the amount of points they're worth. I actually didn't take the tests as this was honors for me so I can't comment on those. Class usually consists of either Youtube videos partially pertaining to class topics or insanely horrid lecture that you can tell she is seeing the slides for the first time just like you. If you study the notes/slides then the class should be easy, you just have to deal with a terrible dressed (eg-clothes that are unnecessarily tight with biker hats with fake gems on them), incompetent teacher.

There are about 6 quizzes and one exam: the final. There are a lot of group activities and class participation. If you actually do the little assignments you can make a good grade. There is a book required for the cases. She provides power points for every chapter. She gives you several opportunities for extra credit.
If you do the work and study just a little bit you will do fine. Good teacher, just a little slow on the grading.

This class is all about excel and how to use it with simulations, graphs, etc. I don't think it would have been as hard as it was if the concepts were explained. We basically just copied formulas, but the explanations as to why were were using these formulas and what the answers are supposed to tell us were never explained, so this made the tests pretty hard. Dr. Lane took a very long time with grading homework and tests. I never knew exactly what my grade was until after the semester was over. Even though this was Dr. Lane's first semester teaching here, and this class, I think it could have been handled a lot better.
