Mrs. Rinn is an AWESOME teacher. She really knows what shes talking about, shes spunky and funny...I just LOVE her! She is by far the best teacher that I have had on campus! I wouldnt take anyone else but her for this class! I will warn you that you do have to study and pay attention in class, and you also have to attend class...but I was never bored in there! Her tests are kind of hard, and application based so just study and pay attention and you'll do well!

Dr. Rinn and this course are a very easy A. It also is a very interesting class. I took it on the web and you have to answer and disscussion question about twice a week(its your personal opinion). Then you turn in assignments which are right in the book. The midterm and final look hard but they def. aren't. Excellent class and superior teacher! I wish I could take her for all my classes. So goes far beyond any teacher

Dr. Rinn is a very interesting teacher and obviously knows a lot about her field.
While she is approachable she is not the best at responding to questions via email or over the phone... and it is obvious that other classes and or research often take priority over her students sometimes. While a professor has many duties, research being one of them, it doesn't help inspire someone who wants to be an educational psychologist when their professor doesn't grant her students the same consideration they grant her class. Or meet them with the same zeal to teach as they meet her with to learn.

This course is easy because Dr. Rinn is an excellent teacher. For once, an easy course where you actually LEARN. You will find yourself thinking about the things you learn in class throughout the day - because she teaches well and teaches application well. She likes to get to know her students and for the students to get to know one another. She has a variety of teaching methods including in-class group work, videos, lecture, etc. Her lectures are short, interesting, and easy to follow. She is young and cute and easy to get along with. She is fair and patient with every student. We had one student who drove everyone crazy, including Dr. Rinn, but her patience with this person and kindness were examples to all of us for our future teaching careers. She does not like late arrivals and you must go to class - but I promise it's anything but painful. She does not accept late work ever - but there are not many assignments, and the required assignments are easy. She encourages you to work together on everything. No one in my class ever had a complaint against her. I think she's better than Derryberry. Take her. This was my favorite class thus far at WKU.

Dr. Rinn is an awesome and highly effective professor! Take her, especially if you have a bad Edu 250 teacher! The quality of learning in her class will make up for any boring or uneffective Intro to Edu class you have. The only complaint I have is about the textbook, but Dr. Rinn even shared her main reason for assigning reading from the textbook: you're supposed to read the assigned pages before class each day, so that's your first exposure to the material. Class discussion is your second exposure, and there's at least a couple of other times you're exposed to the material. The more times you're exposed to the material, the more likely it is to get into your long term memory. Do you see some of the useful info I've learned in her class?

Dr. Rinn is wonderful!! The subject is interesting for the most part, but she makes class more fun. She's very young and has good ideas. Class was never boring. The tests have 3 sections: multiple choice, short answer, and essay. You choose 2 sections and complete them. The tests are somewhat difficult, but if you participate in class and do the extra credit, you'll do fine. I would definately recommend Dr. Rinn!!!!

She is a wonderful teacher. There is a lot of information that this course covers (alot of it is theories and who said what and that all kind of runs together in my mind!). She is vry young (in her 20's) and she can relate to the students on many things about being in college. She encourages attendance, and it is hard to catch up when you miss! I would recommend her, and did, to several friends.

Mrs. Rinn is one of the best teachers I've had at WKU. Her lectures are laid out in a way so that she's not just spitting back facts at you--she actually connects it with real-life examples.
She remembers what it's like to be in college, but if you try to take advantage of her attendance policy, you won't be in her good graces. The class is very interesting and is great for future teachers. I like the fact that she tells you to not accept everything in the book but to think for yourself about what is true.
I would recommend her in the highest degree.

This was a very fun and intersting class. You will have to write reflections along with the critical performances, but they are not that hard and Dr. Rinn grades easily as long as you have the specified length. The tests are composed of three parts: multiple choice, short answer, and essay. You pick 2 of the sections that you want to answer, and that is what your test score is based on. The tests are almost strictly memorization of the notes, however, some questions are application. There are 40 bonus points avaliable, which is what helped me receive my A. I really enjoyed this class and learned a lot. I would recommend Dr. Rinn to everyone!

Ms. Rinn was very nice and she is young so it was a laid back class. I had it at 8 am and she likes to do a lot of group work which was not cool at 8 am. Take her its an intersting class and and easy grade.

As long as you show up and take notes you will be pretty prepared for tests. She always gives a study guide so you know what to look for and to find in the book if she didnt cover it in class. There are 3 sections on the test and you will choose 2 to complete. Participate in studies for extra credit. I got a B on every test and still an A in the class probably from extra credit and because there are several papers to write that arent too difficult, never more than 3 pages. She is a good teacher:)

Rinn rules. She is very clear in her examples and her lectures aren't boring at all. The work you do in there can get tedious, but thats not her fault. That's the stupid education department making you do those critical performances. She does the tests weird. There are three sections, a multiple choice section, essay section, and short answer section. You pick two of the sections and thats what you're graded on.
I actually looked forward to the class. The content is interesting and she always gets good class discussion going. It is also very obvious that she applies most of the things you learn actually to the class. She's one of the best teachers I've had since I've been at Western, take this class... please.
