Math 116 should be an easy course. Afterall, most people took algebra in high school. However, Prof Hill is a million years old and has lost the ability to teach. He picks the hardest problem in the book for the section being covered and works it out on the board. By the end of the class period, he has covered the entire board with this problem. He usually gets lost trying to solve it and the answer is a big confusing mess that makes no sense. The tests were impossible and most people failed them, so I'm not really sure how any of us passed unless we all failed and he decided to curve the grades so that he didn't look bad. TAKE SOMEONE ELSE FOR THIS COURSE!!!

Do Not take Him, if you have him, get out!!! Math doesn't come easy for me but it is something i can be taught!! He can't teach. he doesn't give you alot of notes which means he doesn't explain anything. when i started the class, it was full and by spring break, we only had about 15-20 students left. he dosn't help and laughs when you ask a question. He locked one girl out of the room when she went to the bath room one day and wouldn't let her back in. His test are only about 14 questions and would be easy, but he dosen't teach anything. There were even some questions on the test that he covered after the test. the class avg. for one of our test was below 50% and he got mad at us. Our homework is on mathxl and he dosen't review for anytest. i strongly recommend you not to take him. i have always mad A's and B's and i failed the course.

He could be a great teacher. That is if he could bring it to the student's level. He seems to be too smart to teach a class a low a level as this one.

DO NOT TAKE HIM!!! If you have to graduate later to avoid him, by all means do so. He is a really nice guy, but he cannot teach. I felt like he was talking to Grad students. I worked like hell and got a low B. And I have never made a B before. Save yourself the misery

The conceptual difficulty of the class itself isn't bad if you read the book, but each test is worth 20% of your grade and the final is 40%. To make matters worse, we weren't allowed to use a calculator on our final and it took us the entire two hours to complete. This is the first math class that I haven't made an A in. Dr. Hill is a nice guy in person, but is downright sadistic when grading. If you get partial credit, expect to get the lowest amount possible without missing the question entirely.
