This class was not that hard and I am not very good at math. She does not give "homework" that she collects but it is to your adnavtage that you do solve some if not all of the problems that she assigns. Quizzes occur every so often. If you attend class and do decent on the tests and quizes there is no reason why you should not get a good grade in here.

Math is not my strong suit at all, but thanks to Karen, I got an A!! She explains things slowly and in great detail, making everything as simplistic as possible--which I really appreciated. Plus, she's kind of funny, and ya can't help but like her. The cumulative final is kind of scary, but she gives out outlines for her tests, and they pretty well follow the test questions. I definately reccommend this professor.

Ms. Gramling is great. Her teaching style is excellent. She is very easy to understand and always willing to go out of her way to help you. Her tests are not that bad, you just have to study for them. She has a lot quizzes, but they are all take home ( and easy ). I really recommend her for a teacher when you take this course.

She is a good teacher. She gives you exact problems out of the book to work before each test that covers everything. You get to drop your 2 lowest quiz grades, which are take home quizes anyways so everyone makes 100 on them. She is a nice lady and i highly recomend taking her.

If you are thinking of signing up for this course, you're out of your mind. Take a different sequence for your math major. If you must take it, though, take it with karen. She's extremely nice, understanding and generally knows that the class has no clue what's going on. You have a midterm and final, and the hardest questions on both are in the take-home form. Sound easy? think again. It will be the hardest piece of paper you've ever looked at - and you will need over a week to finish it.

dr. gramling is a great professor with an excellent personality. she's always willing to help. homework is not graded. she assigns take home assignments that she grades. she even lets you turn them in early to be graded and you get to make corrections. she's awesome

Great teacher. Homework is never taken up, which is rather unmotivating. She teaches her lesson quick, and u get out early very often. She is very helpful and knows her material well.

I know you're nervous about taking 116--you're not a math person right? Well, fear no more--Karen is here!
I am not a math person either, but I did very well in this class because she explains problems thoroughly & patiently & is always willing to help. She is absolutely the best math teacher I have ever had. She gives you old exams & quizzes to study & that is extremely helpful. I took 116E which meets every day & it's not as bad as you'd think, you go slower & don't forget as much. If you have to take 116--take Karen, you won't regret it!

Karen is a wonderful teacher. She does a good job explaining things in a way anyone can understand. If you want a good grade in 116 take Karen. PLUS: most of the time you get out early!!

I know you're nervous about taking Algebra, but fear no more--Karen is here. She is absolutely the best math teacher I've ever had. I am not a math person, but I did well because she explains problems thoroughly & is extremely helpful. If you're really not good at math, I would recommend taking 116E, which meets every day. It's not as hellish as you'd think--she goes slow & you forget less than if you had it every other day. She gives old quizzes & exams for you to study & that is extremely helpful. If you have to take 116--take Karen! You'll be glad you did!

No grades are taken for doing your homework. Grades come from the tests. So, if you bomb the tests..you bomb the class. If you hate math, stay away from this teacher!!!

Teacher was great and helped out with everything. Studying is manditory. I had it every day the whole semester, so that made is grueling. Tests are hard.
