Awful, awful teacher. This woman snapped one day when someone left in the middle of class(presumably to go to the bathroom) This woman snapped at a guy who asked too many questions one day (he had asked two). This woman wasted an entire day ranting about KERA, which is funny, because even though KERA is seriously flawed, it's a backlash against teachers like her that put it into place. This is a horrible teacher- everyone should refuse to take her and maybe she would get fired.

If you want an easy "A," Brenda Martin is not the teacher for you. Her tests are hard! The material you have to know is unreal. She is willing to help as long as it does not conflict with her schedule. She does not have the best personality in the world and lacks some social skills. She takes Grammar seriously and expects you to take it serious too. Although I learned quite a bit of information, the class was hard and not worth all the trouble. Take someone else if you can!

Do not take Dr. Martin. I repeat: do not take Dr. Martin. Her course is extremely hard, and she has little to no patience with students who need assistance. If you stick in there and attend you might pull a C like me. The sad thing is I'm an English major!

This is class is pretty hard. Martin is a nice lady once you get to know her, but she expects a lot from everyone. Her tests are hard and long. The final was 13 pages long. It's hard, but it's not impossible to make an A if you work at it.

Whoever posted Brenda Martin=Bitch was right on. This woman doesn't care about her students or even if they learn. She is obviously a jaded mean-spirited old hag. She NEEDS to retire.

Dr. Martin is a real task-master. She walks in the door lecturing. She is fast-paced and she doesn't tolerate laziness, etc. She expects a lot from students, even if her assignments do seem like high school busy work. Practice does make perfect, after all. She can be a bit bitchy and condescending, but she makes you know it, and THAT is her job. She does it well.

Mrs. Martin is a good teacher but EXTREMELY difficult. I graduated with a 3.8 GPA and this was the most difficult class and teacher I ever had. If you want to learn grammar...take her. If you want to get in and get out -- don't!

Expect to turn in homework everyday even quiz and exam days! Essays--you also have to turn in your brainstorm/ideas and your outline--content is not as important as structure so expect to get "extra-minus points" for that! If you learn better through overloaded assignments, this is the class for you.
