Additional Comments
Dr. Borland is great. If you don't understand something, he'll explain it over and over and over until you do. The man is a comic genius. Nothing he says is funny, but the way he says things is hilarious.

There aren't a lot of notes, but there are about a million graphs which he'll hand out and go over in class. You won't really need the textbook; half of the material isn't even in it. He reserved some books at the library that cover anything not in the book and you'd be better served to at least skim through them.

The tests can be killer. I didn't do well on the first two, but did well on the third and aced the cumulative final. Lots of problem-solving with one or two brief essay questions. Tests consist of several questions of which you have to answer 5 or so. NEVER answer less than the minimum; if you don't know much about something, write what you know. He gives partial credit based on how much of an understanding you demonstrate on the test.

Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you miss you'll miss a LOT.

Dr. Borland is a great professor who will do whatever is needed to make sure that you understand the concepts of the course. By all means make use of him. If you don't, then you'll regret it when you take one of his tests.
