Additional Comments |
Accounting 300 was the most intense thing that ever happened to me. The course load is shockingly immense, and the material can be quite difficult. Attendance isn't actually mandatory, but I put that it was b/c even if you miss one day, you'll be amazingly confused the next day and find it hard to catch up. I'm an all A's student, but I really struggled for an A in this class. The good thing about this class, however, is that you will quickly realize whether or not you have what it takes to be an Accounting major. Even though it was very difficult, I liked Ross as a teacher and I learned more than I did in all of my other classes combined. Here is a break-down of the class... 12 in-class quizzes 12 take-home quizzes (usually took me around 2-6 hours) 2 group projects (very time-consuming) 1 individual computer project 6 exams (all multiple choice, 50% conceptual 50% computational) Cumulative final (VERY difficult, don't expect a break on this one)
Tips: Go to the events that will give you extra credit points. Get a study partner, someone you can check take-home quiz solutions with. Learn to write quickly and abbreviate notes. Ross goes FAST and it's a constant struggle to keep up with him.
Have fun. Good luck!
