I am still enrolled in this class and think I have a C. Novikov has an accent can be hard to understand. He moves extremely quick through chapters and it's really hard to keep up. When explaining things he doesn't really break down what he is talking about so it doesn't allow you time to really comprehend anything well. I don't actually know my grade bc he has yet to post our 2 tests after a month and half saying he will get to it. Also he will rarely ever respond to any emails so don't bother asking him questions. He is usually late for every class too and if he isn't going to be there you won't get notified. I would highly recommend anyone else. He is very hard to work with.

"I must start by saying that the other reviews of Dr. Novikov clearly come from students who give absolutely 0 effort towards school and are complete morons. Dr. Novikov is the coolest and easiest professor ever. He extends the deadlines to ALL of his homeworks. He gives partial credit on quizes even when you dont deserve it, and he lets you use the book and notebook on tests. I got 100% on all of his tests because they were very similar to our homework problems which I copied into my notebook. With just minimal effort you will succeed in this class. " NOT TRUE! I AM AN A STUDENT, AND I PUT 100 PERCENT IN READING THE REQUIRED BOOK, HIS NOTES SUCK (HE GOES TOO FAST),HE'S FUNNY, BUT THAT DOESNT MATTER WHEN IT COMES TO MY FINAL FUCKING GRADE! THE SMARTEST GUY IN THE CLASS GOT A 90, AND THIS GUY IS A GENIUS! LETS JUST SAY THIS; IF YOU'RE AN A STUDENT, YOU'LL GET A B IN HIS CLASS. IF YOU TAKE THIS GUY, HIS ACCENT IS THICK, THE NOTES ARE HORRIBLE, AND THE TESTS YOU CAN USE YOUR NOTES, BUT ANY ONE WHO'S TAKEN TESTS THAT ALLOWED ONE TO USE HIS/HER NOTES KNOWS THAT THOSE TYPES OF TESTS ARE THE HARDEST TO DO UNDER 1 HOUR!!! HIS TESTS ARE LONG AND YOULL FIND YOURSELF FLIPPING BACK AND FORTH THRU YOUR NOTES TIL YOU PUKE. P.S. THE ONLINE ASSIGNMENTS ARE VERY VERY VERY DIFFICULT TO DO WITH THE BOOK'S LIMITED SHITTY LAYOUT. AND AUTHOR GIANCOLI, GO FUCK YOURSELF!

The class itself is already a hard class. Novikov can teach somewhat well, but I believe it was his first semester teaching when I had him. He wasn't bad but had a few smart aleck things to say if asked or said something stupid. After the entire class bombed his first test he decided to make all the tests after the Mastering Physics homework problems. So as long as you study the homework and know how to do all of them, he will use them on the test. Each test has five problems. The final has ten. Good luck if you take him. He's alright.

This guy is horrible. He doesn't help, the labs are pitifully prepared, and the computer programs used in gathering data are incredibly hard to use. The way we were introduced to the computer was like we had been using it all our lives. I can't stand this guy, he's not friendly or useful as an instructor because half the time I don't think he knows whats going on. If you like being frustrated, take Novikov.

Very difficult professor. He is new, so with time, I'm sure he will be fine. He encourages participation, but usually people look at him with blank stares. He wants to pass people, and he likes for you to use office hours. He isn't the friendliest person ever, but I believe if you show an interest in learning, he will show an interest in teaching you.
The class consisted of 4 tests with 5 problems each for 12.5% of grade, each, and a cumulative final with 10 problems, which was 25% of grade. We had online homework before every class which was about another 12.5 percent. Quizzes made up the other 12.5 percent. The book helped to read.
