Cathy makes many judgment calls on what is good work in Adobe. She speeds through the lessons and expects that you'll understand it right away.
She spent three weeks on Indesign and that's simply not enough time to learn this.
Also, she can be very critical of students who aren't as creative as she. The major final project was thrown at our class two weeks before the final exam week.
I spent hours and hours on this and other projects.
Take Mark Simpson or anyone else for this course which is required for Journalism students at Western.

Fun class.. she seems like she'd be a jerk but get on her good side and she's cool.. you can tell she's not really use to being a teacher but she knows her stuff and I learned alot.. pretty fun class, but alot of work.. be ready to put in some HOURS at the lab...

This class is pretty easy. The only reason I made a B was because I slacked on my final project and it was worth a good chunk of my grade. The moral of the story: If you take her, do good on the final project.. it really affects the grade. Aside, from the grading, Mrs. Munisteri just acts like she doesn't want to be there. She's a graphic designer teaching a class. Like someone else said, everything has to be exactly how she wants it and she's very degrading if it isn't. On your lessons, if you do all the technical, important stuff right, if the color is a little off, she takes off. She also deems things 'too easy' even if you spent hours on it. It's all judgement calls and she never specifies what is 'easy' and what is right. I'd recommend taking someone else if you can.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND TAKE THIS CLASS WITH SOMEONE ELSE! She just likes to pile on the work like you have no other classes. Plus she has set ideas on what she wants and how she wants it. If you meet all the criteria for a project but there is some design she does not like or she thinks it was to easy she will deduct points. I spent three hours on a project once and she saw it and thought it was incredibly easy. So, she took off points. It is extremely hard to please her and really not worth the time and effort.
