Mr. Broekema is obviously a great photographer and knows a great deal about photojournalism. However, he isn't well fit to teach a intro class. He teaches the class as if we already know everything he talks about. He is brutal in critiques, and rarely has anything nice to say. He seems to be perpetually grumpy. You have about 10-12 assignments and then a picture story. He isn't very helpful and isn't very approachable. I would avoid taking him unless you absolutely had to.
