You will end up with nothing as I did. He does not know
what to discusse in the class till the last 10 minutes before
the class. You do not know anything about your assignment
grades till the last week in the semester. He has no plan for
the course. Dr. Rinehart Changes his plan for the course
whenever he sees he needs to do. You do not know where
to study from for the single mid term exam. The final exam is a group project.

I rarely understand from him. Exams not realy reflect
the class activity. I took him because he was the only one
for the class I have to take. As a person he is great, but poor
teacher.

Dr. Rinehart shows enthusiasm for the material. Is very knowledgeable on the subject and can answer just about any question pertaining to the field. He is VERY lenient when it comes to turning in assignments. The final project is very difficult but he is actively helpful.

He puts notes online so you really dont have to take many. But he goes over them so darn fast, geeze. Its crazy and know one I know understands anything in there. His tests used to be online, that supposedly was great. But they aren't any more and so they are no longer shams. Sahi is supposed to be a really bad teacher too, but I only have him for lab. (Dont take sahi for lab). If choosing between Sahi and Rinehart, I'd go with Rinehart, because Sahi cant speak English. But Rineharts class is boring and hard to understand. If you take the class, get a book and read it religously, because you aren't going to get this stuff from class.

This class seemed to be a waste of time. A notebook is required for the lab write ups. The labs are boring and take the entire period. Study hard for the lab exams, show up, and you will do fine.

Dr. Rinehart is a nice guy, but this class is pretty hard. He lectures off of his power point presentation and talks over your head. The book is a waste of money. Attend class to get points for small group exercises and do your online quizes. Don't take this class expecting to learn anything.

This class was difficult. I don't think the subject was as difficult as his teaching style made it to be. He goes into so much detail, it's hard to understand the big picture.

Dr. Rinehart tends to talk over your head a lot. He will help you out and he's pretty nice about it. However, sometimes he can be confusing and you're left off worse than when you went for help. If you study the book and your notes really good, you should do ok in the class.

The title of the course is "INTRODUCTION to Mollecular and Cell Biology." However, if the word "introduction" were not writen at the top of my sylabus, I would never have believed that it was an introductory course. It seemed that Dr. Rinehart chose to forgo the basic concepts and went strait to the minute detail. That is to say that he often talked over our heads and left most of the class completely lost. The text book was no help as it, much like Dr. Rinehart, was excessivly technical. If this is a required class take another porfessor is one is available. If you must take Dr. Rinehart, do not waste your time going to class. Lean what you can from the book and from the notes provided on the internet.

The class in itself is difficult. Rinehart doesn't make it any easier by having his lectures strickly by powe point. The notes are massive but you can print them out from the web. The test questions come straight from the notes and I haven't used my book yet this year--save your money you don't need the book. You can pull a good grade from this class but it won't be easy.

I came out of this class with little more knowledge about the subject than when I left high school. It is obvious Rinehart knows his material, but he doesn't have an effective way of communicating it to the class. All notes and quizzes are on the internet, and are not very logical. He does not teach foundational subjects well, so prepare to depend on the book if you want to learn. If quizzes weren't on the internet I may have failed pathetically.

He is the absolute Worst teacher that anyone could possibly ask for! He knows his stuff but seems to forget that we don't have out doctorate in genetics. He speaks way over your head and leaves out the basic founding blocks that must be understood before entering more complex subjects. Do yourself a favor and take Sahi, you will have a more stress-free semester if you do!

This is not a traditional course. Based mostly on lab participation, but Dr. Rinehart is an EXCELLENT prof. who will help you all he can. Very calm and patient, overall great teacher and a great guy.

The final exam is comprehensive and it's a killer. He teaches off of the internet, and it's extremely difficult to follow him.
