Dr. Cosby is ridiculous. She most likely was great in her career as a manager before teaching, but she just read everything off the textbook website and couldn't explain tricky questions on the tests, which occurred on pretty much every test.

Dana is a great teacher. I was hesitant at first because at the end of each class you have to write a "minute paper" but after a while they just had to be 2-3 sentences about what you learned in class. She is fun, energetic and has lots of crazy and exciting stories. She is very interactive and I don't mind going to her class at all. There is a test once ever four weeks maybe and there is a TON of extra credit opportunities. If you need to take this class and want an easy A and a fun, nice teacher this is the class for you.

Probably my favorite teacher of all time!!! She is amazing and so charsmatic that class time flys by! Her method of teaching is interactive and I enjoyed that so much!!! She does have a tendancy to go off the map for a bit when she teaches, but its always with stories and scenarios that bring the material to a real world approach!! This is a phenomenal class and I will look to take her in any business course I can!!!!!

She is possibly one of the most horrible teachers I've had at Western. She favors students and only likes the ones who major in Management. She didn't even take the time to learn any of our names except for the guys in the front row who she constantly flirted with! She always goes off subject and waste all of our time. You lose 5 points if you miss class and you have to do "minute papers" every class period. Oh and if you don't have class the next class period or if she moves the test and you weren't there that day she won't tell you by email. If you don't need this class don't take it, or atleast not with her. I hardly learned anything since it was so boring!

Ok, so Dana is great as a person, but she does not know how to teach. She makes you write "minute papers" at the end of class for attendance. She stands in front of the class and reads the powerpoints word for word. The tests are horribly hard compared to the easy material. AND she changed the grading scale at the end of the class. She said you needed 900 points to get an A and I had 956. What she neglected to tell us is that she drops 5 quiz grades and THEN you should have 900 points. If you want a B when you should really get an A, then take Dana.

Dr. Cosby-Simmons uses the textbook website for every aspect of her class. She uses the website's quizzes, tests, and even powerpoint slides. Therefore, she does not know the test questions before giving the tests. She literally reads off the powerpoint slides everyday in class, making class extremely pointless to attend. However, if you do not attend class and write your "minute paper" you do not receive the 5 points per class for attendance. She lost several people's minute papers, added points to the class compared to the syllabus, and changed her grading method at the end of the semester. Several students in my class complained about the difficulty of the tests, as well as receiving a grade they did not expect. I earned an A and received a B due to the added points at the end of the semester. This class is NOT worth your time and energy if you can get a different professor! You will be fighting with her all semester long about your grades, and she does NOT change her mind!

I took this class as a web course. The positive aspects were that the material was interesting and the instructor did not grade too harshly. However, if you work, have other classes, a family or enjoy having a social life, I would not recommend taking this class. The busy work will devour ALL of your time. There were weekly homework assignments regardless of holidays or school breaks. They ranged from essay questions to 2-3 page papers. There was one group homework assignment and one group project. The project required a 10-15 page paper, presentation, two page summary and discussion board questions. Students were also required to submit 3 or more substantial discussion board comments each week. Some required attaching links or articles to back up statements. There were three 2 hour exams.

I took this class online and wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. The amount of homework assigned for this class is insane.
If it wasn't my last semester I would have dropped or audited this class but I needed the hours to graduate.
Seriously, DO NOT take this class with Dana Cosby-Simmons.

One of the most fun classes I've ever had. Dana is amazing. She is so much fun and she really does care about her students. We did a lot of hands on assignments and activities. I learned a lot more from those than I would have if she had just lectured every class. We had the whole semester to work on a group project that was worth a big portion of our grade, but it was easy. All her tests were online. You have to be in class to make an A though because she does in-class assignments for a grade. But you will want to come to class! She is great!

Dana is a wonderful teacher for this class. She insists that you call her by her first name and is just like any other student. She is lots of fun and grades very easy. You have to do an interview, a group discussion and two speeches. One informative and one persuasive. We did our persuasive speeches as a group. The tests were online so you can use your book. Very easy to get an A in this class and it's lots of fun too.

I absolutely LOVED Dana. She was hilarious, and friendly, and always enthusiastic. Usually that can drive me crazy, especially early in the morning (every day she'd ask, "How are y'all today?" and we'd say "Wonderful, today's a great day!"), but with her it was different, it was fun, or funny at least. This was my very first class of college, and I couldn't have asked for a better teacher for it. She made everyone feel welcome, and helped us get to know our other classmates and her. The class was super easy. I hated writing the speeches, but you have to do that for any public speaking class. Any notes she gave were on blackboard, so you don't have to worry with them, and so were the tests. The minimum time that she gave was 1 hour for 50 multiple choice/TF questions, so you could sit and pick all of them straight from the book without having to actually read the material except just to get familiar with it's location. I highly, highly, highly recommend Dana.

I really enjoyed this class. Dana is an awesome teacher and makes coming to class not so bad. She's really laid back and has a good sense of humor. We only had to give 2 speeches the entire time and had 2 tests which were posted online (which was nice bc you got to use your book). I'd definitely take this class if you want an easy A.

Dana is an awesome teacher! She explains things in an easy way for you to understand. This is an easy class in the first place, but she helps. She is willing to help you in any way that she can. She'll put things into real life situations to help you understand the things she is teaching. You don't really have to take notes in class because she put everything on Blackboard. She is one of the best teachers I've ever had.
