Monsieur Cuisinier est le plus meilleur professeur de WKU. Je ne peux pas décrire comment plus j'adore son style d'enseignement.
With that said, I recommend him to anyone scared, new, or in love of French language and Francophone culture. One of the best professors I have had at Western.

Professor Cuisinier has probably been one of my favorite teachers at WKU. Even though this is a 101 course, he doesn't hesitate to immerse you into the French language. He's genuine and really cares about his students, and won't hesitate to find a time to work with you one-on-one to better your french speaking and reading skills.
Great guy. Would recommend to anyone.

I took M. Cuisinier's class after having another teacher at WKU and was not sure what to expect. Well, he spoke French all the time (kinda expected in 201) and told us that we should too. The class goes at a good pace (maybe a little fast, but it was a biterm) and covers a lot of material. M. Cuisinier is so energetic and passionate that you will want to learn everything. He always is willing to help and is more than happy to let you know more about French culture if you ask him.
I really enjoyed French before this class and, now, I love it. Merci M. Cuisinier!

Prof Cuisinier is a nice guy who wants you to do well in class. The class is not that bad but you have to make sure that you come in ready for it everytime. Final is cumulative but review sheets help a lot. Expect to hear him speak French most of the time but it is a French class after all.

This class is only hard if you don't attend very much. You miss one day and can get really behind, especially if you take the bi-term, but I have taken classes from several of the French professors at WKU, and he is definitely the best.

What a fun guy! More seriously, Monsieur Cuisinier is a passionate teacher who wants you to do well in his class and will provide help if you need it. I do not plan on majoring in French, but I learned a lot about France and the French language and would not hesitate to recommend him to other students.

Monsieur Cuisinier is a fun and passionate who loves teaching French. It is true that he speaks a lot of French in class, but he is more than happy to repeat what you don't understand and help you in English outside of the classroom.
The class is not that difficult if you open your book regularly and do your worksheets.

Eddy Cuisinier is an energetic guy and very passionate about French. If you are looking forward to learning french, take his class. If you are like me (just need it for gen ed and can care less), then do not take his class. The first day he spoke a lot of French and didn't clearly translate it to English. He gave us our assignment in French. This class is VERY involved and time consuming. Check it out for yourself on his website :

I wish someone had told me before to take ANY foreign lanuguage at the south campus. It is taught by an American whos first language is English. It's more for the sake of general ed and a whole lot less involved.

I took FREN 201 in the fall and it was a fun class. M. Cuisinier likes to keep a good atmosphere in class and is very non judgmental in seeing how you perform. He justs expects you to come in class every time and be prepared. If you do that, the class will be fairly easy and you will get a good grade. Be ready to learn the usual stuff you do in a language class but also be ready to read texts from actual French books and magazines and to learn a lot about people speaking French everywhere in the world.
M Cuisinier is a good man, take his class!!!

This was a super easy and fun class. All you have to do is show up and participate a little. I sat in the front row and found myself up at the board writing a lot - which is probably why I got a good grade. I really didn't do that great on my tests so participation is key. He gives you worksheets to do and turn in just about every class, but they help you learn the material and are part of the participation. I would recommend taking this class as your foreign language.

Mr. Cuisinier is a nice guy. He grades easily. It is a bit alarming at first when he says that only French will be spoken in that classroom all semester, but you'll get by even if you don't know a thing about French. Tests require some studying, and you'll have a small homework assignment every class. I'll admit I tried pretty hard and only got a B, but I expected as much since I very much dislike learning new languages. If you take honors, you'll forget its an honors class because it's not too terribly hard. Moderately easy, but a very nice guy!

Professor Cuisinier is a fun teacher but you better be ready. He is very willing to help if you don't understand something but you have to show that you are trying. You have homework everyday and he speaks French pretty much all the time. Tests are not that hard because they cover stuff we have seen in class.
Nice atmosphere, but not an easy class

If you did not have him for the first year this course is very difficult, he does not care if you have not learned the stuff he passes up in french 1. His tests were extremely difficult and he expects everyone to be able to speak and write in french at all times. I did not feel he was very helpful either.

If you have to take French for your language studies, then you need to take Professor Cuisinier. I took it in the fall as a junior in college and haven't had French since my sophomore year of high school. The professor made it incredibly easy and that's including the fact that I could barely remember any French before this class. Plus, he's an amazing teacher that's young, funny, and makes class very interesting. His notes are very thorough and encourages you to ask questions and participate. He makes sure you understand the information before moving on and helps you if you need it. His exams are not hard at all, but only if you are well prepared and paid attention during class. (I only studied the night before tests and quizzes and still made an A!) There's a moderate amount of work involved to get a good grade, but that comes along with any class. Definitely take Professor Cuisinier!

Monsieur Cuisinier is a very good teacher. Don't be scared if the class looks hard at first- he speaks French pretty much all the time- , his method eventually works. Makes the class fun with a good sense of humor. He will help you if you have any question. If you are taking French, take him!

Mr. Cuisinier is a great instructor. He is French so he really knows his subject. His class seems really difficult at first but you start to catch on after a while. He is always willing to explain anything you don't understand. If you plan on taking a French class you should take Mr. Cuisinier's class. You will not regret it.

If your planning on taking FREN 101, make sure Mr. Cuisinier is teaching your section. He's French, so he obviously knows the language. His method may seem too difficult at first, but it definitely works. He is very nice and often funny, and he'll always take time to explain something to you if you don't understand it. Another thing that I thinks helps him is his age, he's close to college aged so he relates well to students. In my opinion, he is one of the best instructors at WKU, period.
