Dr. Kerby did not give tests. However, there was a group project that was pretty much your entire grade. It's not hard at all. If you get a good group to work with, everyone just divides up the work. She pretty much walks you through it. There were many days when we would watch a video in class and discuss it. Also, there were "weekly reflections" due. They are not hard and it is basically just a place you can vent - no real guidelines for them. Easy A.

This class is great! Super laid back & very understanding. She does not teach, a lot of it is reading the chapter and then having a group discussion. A lot of times we only met once a week, and did a weekly blog.I HIGHLY recommend taking this class!!! Its an easy A!!!

I didn't get as much out of this class as I had hoped I would. I was very interested in the topic and went into it hoping to learn all about women in history, feminism, etc. and was sorely dissapointed. The class is discussion based. You get divided into groups and get assigned an article discuss. Each day you sit and listen to people overview articles that you have already read. There wasn't much actual teaching involved. There were no tests. There were a few easy papers and an annotated bibliography. There is a mandatory service-learning project and presentation which is used in place of an actual final. If you want an easy A for a gen ed. class take this one.

All I have to say is this class was lame. Any grades from any assignments you will do, don't expect them back in a timely manner! I just got my final grade the day they were due and displayed on Topnet. I felt this class was Feminism 101 instead of Women's Studies..teach me about the history and explorations of women over time..NOT about how to hate men! I did not enjoy this class or the instructor and I feel dumber as I didn't learn anything!

I loved Dr. Kerby. She's sassy, fun, and knows her stuff inside and out. She teaches without lecturing - the class is mostly discussion-based, with chapters from the textbook as the basis for the discussion. (Each chapter is a series of essays, and one student "presents" each essay in class.)
She's been very disorganised due to personal stuff and basketball this semester, so I'd suggest taking her in the fall if you can, but no matter what, I would DEFINITELY suggest taking her.
(There's a service learning project, so you might want to look into your local volunteer organisations now.)

Go to class, say something, do the online crap, you get an A. Easy as pie. The key is participating in class. It's discussion based, and we talked about current events and parking on campus. Not brain surgery. There is one essay you have to write on "I know why the caged bird sings." There was one test, that was on a short story we had to read. The other grades are weekly online blogs about the new york times. The last grade is an online zine. It is a lot easier than she makes it out to be.

Molly Kerby is great. Her class was set up in a discussion fashion, so she never lectured and we never took notes. All of it was just talking, except for a few papers (which were not bad at all). I learned so much in her class - I highly recommend it if you're looking for an accademicaly easy class that will challenge you to think for yourself.

Okay so: Molly Kerby is one of the best teachers I have had here at WKU! She has made my freshman year so much fun! Everyday is a discussion about real issues that happen to real people, told by YOU the student, as it relates to the class. It's pretty easy as long as you are willing to read the assigned essays, (all interesting) and read the book she assigns: Nickle and Dimed. There are also weekly blog entries that are relatively simple, as long as you can form your own opnions and observations. But, like I said, Molly is great! And if you are considering taking Women's Studies, take her!

Molly is an awesome teacher. Your quizzes are class discussions that have to deal with racial and inequality issues. It's not all about women studies it deals with all kind of topics. Everyone needs to take this class if possible because its very informative and its a place where your voice can be heard.

She is really easy. She is laid back and fun to carry a convosation with. We only had a few major assignments but other than that the class is cake. Attendence is required but she doesnt care if you show up late, just as long as you show up.

Molly is one of my favorite professors on campus. She is very layed back, easy to get along with, passionate and intelligent. I had her for intro. to women's studies which was great as well. Both courses are based mainly upon discussion that gets started through readings. She presents the material from a women's studies prospective more so than health care, but you will learn a lot about each field. Our midterm was a take home essay (around 10 pgs.) the final was a short research presentation, the rest of the course consisted of journals, article summations, and some out of class projects..nothing too difficult and definitely beneficial. I have yet to meet someone who dislikes or disapproves of her or her teaching methods. She will make you aware of your surroundings and what is going on in the world, she will make you laugh, and hopefully you will be inspired by her the way that I was.

This class will definitely be my favorite at Western. Molly is an awesome person and teacher. The class was all about discussion and examining everyday sexism that is looked over. But is not an extreme feminist class either. The final is a research paper and presentation.

I really liked this class, and it's really easy. All you do is sit in there and talk about what each group has read. The final is a paper. There are no tests in this class. I highly recommend this class.

NO TESTS!!! Easiest class around, other than the fact that you do have to attend. She gives really random assignments though which make it seem more like high school at times, but she is really laid back and understanding and will do anything to help you out.

This was a great class and Molly is the Greatest!!!!! She knows a lot and lets the class discussion do the teaching. Our final was a group presentation and a Paper we each had to write. But overall it was an easy and informative class along with lots of fun, I was sad to see it come to an end. I highly recomend taking this class and taking it with Molly!!!!
