This class wasn't to bad. I got a B so I give it the smiley face.
The good - Never any homework, he's not real picky about attendance but there are random checks and if your not there it's like not doing a hw assignment, and it's pretty interesting sometimes. He's a down to Earth guy.
The Bad - He has a lot of notes and half the stuff you dont need, I bought the book but I never opened it so don't buy it, the reviews are very helpful but they could be MUCH better. I got a C on every test, got an A on the final, and was there for all the attendance.

This was the most boring class I ever took in my life. It was more boring then Western Civ and Math 116 combined. He gives way to many notes for this to be a Gen Ed. He does not give anyone extra credit. He goes over the material extremely fast. He also blocks the power points so you can not print them. He only gives four test and no other assignments. I would advise NOBODY to ever take this class unless you want to be bored out of your mind and possibly fail!!

He is kinda funny but the class is a bore. There is no memorization you have to really know the concepts to get a good grade on the tests. He does have a review but he goes over it really fast. You are ask to take notes before the class by hand he blocks them so you can't print. For a Gen Ed it is way to difficult.

It's a really interesting class and he's a funny guy! If you follow along with his notes (which he posts on Blackboard), you don't need a book at all and can get an A. (I barely missed an A). Just go to class and pay attention...and you'll get a good grade. Take this class!

I found this class enjoyable even though you sit and talk about rocks and weather the whole time. I'm not science or math oriented so I took this class to fulfill my Category D Gen. Ed. requirement and would suggest other "English thinkers" to do the same. This class isn't about material that only science geeks would know. Josh is able to explain complicated subject matter in layman's terms and he does it in an interesting way by using examples from everyday life. He clearly knows what he's talking about and he seems to enjoy geography more than most things. His tests are 40 multiple choice questions, which he goes over during test review day. The final is only 1/3 cumulative with the other parts being new material. The textbook is really a waste of money. It's point is to "supplement" your learning but he only tests what you learn in class and in your notes. Save yourself 80 to 100 bucks and forget the book! This class isn't what you'd call a cakewalk, but it doesn't ask for much. There are no curveballs - class, tests, repeat. Just show up for every class (because he does at least 3 random attendance checks throughout the semester), and pay attention to the notes (he posts them on blackboard), and you will get at least a C in this course. Any class that requires a minimal effort to succeed is what I'd call "easy".

He expects you to already know everything. His test confuse everyone beacuse his reviews are over the notes but the test isn't. He doesn't really take attendence and the notes are on Blackboard.
