Mrs Thomas seems to be a nice teacher, it may seem like she nows what she is talking about but she dosent! When you go to ask her a question about the problem she gets confused her self! When test taking time comes she gose over all the easy stuff and then when its time to go over the more difficult things she calls it quits and lets us leave! She expects u to know how to do everything and she thinks that everything should be so easy for u to memorize! The only good thing about this class is the fact that if you have her for 2 hours she usually lets you out at least 45 minutes early everytime you have the class!

This is not an easy course to begin with. If you are not required to take it, don't. This course involves a lot of math, and if you are not good at math, you will struggle. She is a very good teacher, but her tests are extremely hard. The problems that she does on the board for review do not compare at all to the ones she gives you on the test. The amount of information that you are required to memorize for this course is a whole lot. There are only 2 homework assignments the entire semester, but you should study the notes from class every night.

Dr. Thomas is a very nice person. She is the one teacher who is always willing to help. However, you have to work very hard to make an A in class. She grades very hard and no one in my class did that well. She will always help though. Her tests are very hard...if you think that you did well...you probably did not! Still, I would take her again because she really focused on me specifically making a good grade. I think that if you work hard from the beginning a B is very easy...an A....that is a different story.

Dr. Thomas gave notes for about 30 minutes then let us go. She never went over the notes well. In the 1 1/2 class, she only gave us 1 hour to take our exams. Overall, I would not recommend Dr. Thomas for a professor.

This course shouldn't be as hard as she made it. She seems like a really nice person and she means well but she's not a very good teacher. If you're like me and need to have explained to you why you work a problem the way you do and not just how then I would reccomend not taking her.

She is a very nice person and she will try to help you if you ask. The problems I had was that I would feel confident that I understood and knew the material she went over in class, but then when she handed out the test ( that was always too long to finish in 50 minutes, take it on Tue and Thur if you can, more time for the test) the problems were more in depth and very hard to understand unlike the examples she had given us. If you are independ and like to read the book to teach yourself then you will do fine. Get ready for the final because she told us to study our old test and quizes, thats what I did and then there were things on the final that I had never heard before. She does give 10 or 11 quizes over the material (mainly one subject) you have covered in the previous class, but you have to study for them. She calls them pop quizes but she gives a hint the class before that there is gona be one...Good Luck

I had a lot of this material in high school, but I still thought there was no way to get an A in this class (I did have an A in high school Chem though). Dr. Thomas seems like a smart woman, but she doesn't explain things in a way that relates to students. However, she seems like she cares about her students. I think she'll provide extra help if you schedule an appointment, but you're probably better off studying in a group. Her tests were pretty hard, no matter how much you think you know the material, but most of the problems that you have to work out are similar to ones she explained in class. She also gives 10-11 "pop" quizzes during the semester to help your grade, and they are pretty easy unless you assumed there wouldnt be one on a given day and, therefore, didn't study!
I think I could have got an A in this class if I had time to finish the tests. I felt that it was nearly impossible to finish one in an hour, and every time she'd be like "I think I made this one shorter than the last."
GOOD LUCK!

I didn't think this class was too tough. If you've had Chemistry before, this is just a review. Thomas basically feeds you everything that's going to be on any upcoming quiz/exam. We had 12 quizzes and we got to drop the 2 lowest grades. The quizzes were pretty easy if you were there the day before taking the notes *She'll usually hint that there's a quiz the next day* There was also 3 exams and a cumulative final. Those were a little challenging but nothing too bad if you just read over that section's notes. I think if you just show up to class everyday and take the notes, you'll be set. I'm kinda bummed I paid the $80 for the book and I didn't use it once, but I still managed a B. Overall, I liked the class and the professor.

This class is fairly easy if you have a solid high school chemistry background, which is essential since you have to pretty much teach yourself. Dr. Thomas is knowledgeable, but her inexperience in the classroom is very evident. Don't bother asking questions in class, just read the textbook and try to figure it out for yourself. Even with her shortcomings, she's still pretty nice and tries to help students. If you can do basic algebra, you can do well in this class.

I had never taken a Chemistry class until now. Dr. Thomas was very helpful if you didn't understand something. She gave us 12 easy quizes throughout the semester and we got to drop our 2 lowest ones. It helped bring your grade up a little. We had 3 tests that were pretty hard and the final was cumulative and it was very hard. If you are a slacker you should not take this class. You have to study to make a decent grade in here.

Dr. Thomas is a nice lady and she seems to really know her Chemistry, but she just has a problem teaching it. She's really intelligent and so she makes things more complicated and a lot harder for students than they have to be. She reviews for exams but her exams are really tricky and there will be things that she reviewed for that will not be on the exam at all and then other things she didn't review will be on there a lot. She is pretty understanding though and will help students if you ask her to.
